Listen for yourself!
"Gayleanne": Featuring Lucinda Williams, this is the song about a woman I met in Nashville married to an overbearing soul and so very tied to her dream of reaching stardom in a city brimming over with everyone else’s songs.
"Whatever Happened Between Richard Payne and Burton Post?": this is a story of a young man from West Virginia in the 1950’s who did his time in prison for his crimes of robbery only to commit his next fatal do wrong within hours of his release. The question still remains why.
"Fool": a song of love unrequited
"Hidden Track": this conversation takes place with the last living relative of mine who knew and lived the experience of my family’s moonshine dealings. My great, great half uncle Raymond tells the story (and sings the family tune) the best he can recall of the day the sheriff came to bust the still. (Ironically another Binion family member became sheriff in that very county decades later!)
