NOTE – 08/08 thru 01/09 - Collaboration with The Firefly Music Project (FMP), a Filk group based in Germany. Lyrics and audio files are traded over the internet and four songs are produced for the second TSM CD and for FMP use. Michael Buch plays piano on several tracks. Monika, Kessie and Nicole all contribute lyrics. As far as I am aware, this is the first International/ trans-global Firefly Filk collaboration.

9 - 05/25/08 – 09:00 PM - BALTICON 42 - Hunt Valley Marriot Hunt Valley, Maryland – By day three of Balticon it is decided that TSM needs to be an actual live act if shows were to continue. More material is written including the now classic “Ballad Of A Canceled Show.” This is really where the saga of TSM begins.
8 - 05/24/08 - 02:00 PM - BALTICON 42 - Hunt Valley Marriot Hunt Valley, Maryland
7 - 05/23/08 - 09:00 PM - BALTICON 42 - Hunt Valley Marriot Hunt Valley, Maryland – Performance of new material as a solo act goes very, very well and the TSM project forges ahead towards CD 2 even though CD 1 is still in the final mixing and editing stage.
6 - 05/20/2008 - 08:00 PM - www.secondlife.com – Blue Sun Corporation, Downing City, Persephone UAP Sim
5 - 04/20/08 – 08:00 PM - www.secondlife.com - Blue Sun Corporation, Downing City, Persephone UAP Sim
4 - 03/22/08 – 03/23/08 - 08:00 PM - www.secondlife.com - Blue Sun Corporation, Downing City, Persephone UAP Sim - The Big Damn Unification Day celebration. The nearly completed CD is streamed through out Saturday and Sunday. At one point, a shootout between Browncoat and Alliance forces errupted on the dance floor! (It’s a videogame, remember?)
3 - 02/23/08 - 08:00 PM - www.secondlife.com - Blue Sun Corporation, Downing City, Persephone UAP Sim – Shows broadcast live on www.Secondlife.com were planned and organized to help mix and formulate the first TSM CD. The idea was to let public opinion help directly shape the final product. Mixes and performances were streamed via the internet to listeners playing in the various Firefly Sims online. Criticism and comments were taken, and progress went forth week by week. Secondlife is an online videogame and it is free to play. Search "places" for FIREFLY, SERENITY, or WHEDON to find lots of shiny places to visit and people to meet. This was a new concept for producing music. To have the audience available online to comment and participate we very helpful. Audiences of avatars were generally small but always enthusiastic.
2 - 02/16/08 - FARPOINT CON 2008- Hunt Valley Marriot, Hunt Valley, Maryland
1 - 02/15/08 - FARPOINT CON 2008 - Hunt Valley Marriot, Hunt Valley, Maryland – James Callis, Marina Sirtis celebrity guests – Public debut. TSM only played “Hero Of Canton” and “Ballad Of Serenity” at Farpoint (like, 30 times), but the response was enough to encourage writing possible live material.
2007
NOTE – 11/07- Terrifying Space Monkeys (TSM) began as a recording project in reaction to the current Firefly Filk music scene which had many quality bands but not much variation from traditional folk or rock music. The music Greg Edmonson composed for the show was so varied in tone and texture, that it was prime for re-interpretation. When the realization that no one had done a”Fuity Oaty Bar” dance re-mix, the die was cast. It was also decided to record a “cover” version of the episode “Train Job” and have the project be dance and electronic oriented which had not been done for Firefly Filk yet. The core idea was always, from day one, to produce a CD for charity sale at Cons and online. Thus, the Terrifying Space Monkeys was/ are born.
