Terset broke up August 2007. Susie is now playing in the Buddhist Tribal Punk band Wu Wei (see top 8).
TERSET (tercet: a group of three lines of verse, often rhyming together or with another triplet /// terse: honest to the point of being rude) is a post-punk/hardcore trio from Brooklyn NY.
TERSET dials up heavy guitar distortion to create beautiful, yet discordant feedback that builds a bridge between super-tight, snappy drumming and manic vocals. They successfully fuse the sounds of Mission of Burma, PJ Harvey, Sonic Youth, and Shellac to create their own addictive hybrid.
In January 2006, Terset trudged through blizzards to record their new CD. Freezing and amidst several cats, Annihilation 3 was born at the Cat House in Brooklyn, NY, delivered by the fearless Chris Brown and Lurch. Annihilation 3 (Airborne Panic Factory 001) is available 7/7/06 distributed by www.insound.com. The release will be immediately followed up with a three-week tour of the East Coast/Midwest.

The scariest word used in my family was ‘capitalism.’ I still remembered why that word terrified me so. Walking on eggshells with no way to keep from breaking them, the best way for me to avoid the poisoning collision of reaching for my own stars and making my dreams come true was to avoid the fragile egotism of control the culture and my parents imposed on me to fulfill the pace in their footsteps. Seized by their concept of ‘capitalism’ and how it segued through the family business, I tried my best to follow their rules but I did not like it.
My silence indicated how much venom I had for their definition of ‘capitalism.’ The silence tells my story and the hatred I had for my father's greed. He did not need the money but from the status of people knowing he had the money.
My mother also bears fault for what I became. She nurtured me on the basics of her work ethic. With callused hands and bruised ego, I blindly obeyed
