Tesco Chainstore Mascara are David and Katie. Having been raised on a healthy diet of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, ELO and whatever Laz was listening to, we had no choice but to form a band and make music!
Our new tune "Mr Grey Sky" will appear on the Bubblegum Records compilation due for release in December 09 - more news soon!
“The irrepressibly cheerful “Good Foundations” by Tesco Chainstore Mascara. A proper, bona fide slice of Twop, reminiscent of B&S’s Trevor Horn-produced Dear Catastrophe Waitress, but if Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne had snuck into the studio when everyone had gone home and fiddled with the masters…The kind of music that puts a smile on my face…This is staying on for the rest of the day.” - Neil Williamson, New Album Friday
"The fact is that since I got the album, 'Good Foundations', a few weeks ago I have almost worn out my copy...fine harmonies, great tunes, and very good lyrics. This is probably one of the best albums of 2009" - Tommy Gunnarson, Pennyblack Music

Ah, diminished chords are the business :)...we're particularly fond of augmented chords and use them a lot ...I love the sequence in Writer's Block and will be unashamedly pinching a few of those chords. I'll mix them all up so no-one will tell the difference!
Please support our Indie Pop "EP CLUB" presented by Series Two Records and Eggnog Records. It is a collaboration between an Indie Pop label in Nebraska and one in New Zealand. The indie pop EP CLUB's include artists from around the world.

Yes indeed - "driving away from home" by It's Immaterial! Great song
I tried to get Katie to sing the line "Sat next to you on the M62" as I'd written it in my Scottish accent - "Sat next tae you on the M62" so that it would be a perfect rhyme - but she was for none of it! It was originally called "M62 Song" until we remembered that the doves had a song of that exact title!
thanks for the heads-up about the album david i shall be purchasing my very own copy v soon and there arent enough songs about the M62, so well done there... you join an elite band including Doves, and The Immaculate Fools. So there you go.
