• Bio

Tesco Chainstore Mascara are David and Katie. Having been raised on a healthy diet of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, ELO and whatever Laz was listening to, we had no choice but to form a band and make music! Our new double a-side single is now available as a download from the Bubblegum Records website. It features "Big Bowl of Wrong" and "You Lost Me At Hello (Aloha Mix by Hyperbubble)" and comes with an A3 pdf of the single artwork. TCM on ..facebook.. .. ...... .. “The irrepressibly cheerful “Good Foundations” by Tesco Chainstore Mascara. A proper, bona fide slice of Twop, reminiscent of B&S’s Trevor Horn-produced Dear Catastrophe Waitress, but if Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne had snuck into the studio when everyone had gone home and fiddled with the masters…The kind of music that puts a smile on my face…This is staying on for the rest of the day.” - Neil Williamson, New Album Friday .. "The fact is that since I got the album, 'Good Foundations', a few weeks ago I have almost worn out my copy...fine harmonies, great tunes, and very good lyrics. This is probably one of the best albums of 2009" - Tommy Gunnarson, Pennyblack Music .. "The band have created one of the most enjoyable 30 minutes you are likely to have this or any other year. Good Foundations is chock a block full of pop tunes that no self respecting indiepop dj should be without. From the opener Writers Block to the closer System Restore these 1960’s influenced songs will get the listener bopping, nodding, smiling and doing whatever else you do when listening to good records. Just try not to keep it to yourself ok?" - Tom Hibbert, Indiemp3.co.uk ..
