TETELESTAI strictly translates as “all you motherfuckers who are afraid of getting your dick knocked into the dirt, need to prance away from the stage right now because it is about to get seriously disruptive over here!” The powerful vocals and revolutionary lyrics of Ray Chavez, the creative rhythm of world-class drummer Ragon Espinoza and the lightning fast fingers and edgy deviant tone of Isaac Tafoya enmeshed to create a unique group that embraces their Latin American roots while pounding your weak ass face into a bloody pulp of teeth and mucus. When performing, the group may as well be holding ak47s and emptying clip after clip into their unsuspecting audience. These musicians have created an original, technical, violent yet passionate sound that is TETELESTAI.
Beginning in a rural small town in central New Mexico miles from anything resembling a city, this underestimated, but exceptionally talented and ambitious band, broke onto the Albuquerque local music scene undaunted by other established and more experienced bands. TETELESTAI unveiled a new sound of severe technical off-beats, breakdowns and punishing tempos. The teeth-grinding, clever, masterful, stripped-of-all-the-bullshit-songwriting, unmatched intense stage performance and the determination to grow as a single fierce entity has enabled them to spawn their first, but highly anticipated, album, “Epitome of Them All.” TETELESTAI has shared the stage with Soulfly, Otep, Diecast and Bury Your Dead due to their loyal fan base and consistent hard work. Now being a leader in the local music scene, TETELESTAI has gained the reputation by all the local venues, bands and fans that has consistently delivered for over 7 years. TETELESTAI has been held back by numerous commitments, tragedies and setbacks. But because they don’t quit, the band is now free to pursue their goal of becoming a professional band.
In Hebrew, “Tetelestai” means “It is finished.” On the contrary, these men are far from accomplishing every goal they have set for themselves. With the blind, instinctual, and unstoppable ambition like a moth to a flame, these men are ready to conquer.
