» Tevakanui:
First and foremost, we are very grateful to the beautiful man above, who has guided, protected, and blessed Tevakanui to thrive in success and excellence. It is indeed more than just a group with the thrive & passion of the different arts of dancing, in the polynesian culture. It is a family of beautiful people brought together with there talents to create what is known out there as...Tevakanui. Our goal is to not only entertain, but to lift& touch the spirits of many.
We aspire to be the best that we all know we can be, and to reach high, great and better places [now and in the future]. Not only are we aspiring to inspire others, but we ourselves find a positive influence as well. In our journey over just the last three years residing here in Las Vegas, Nevada, Tevakanui has grown enormously at an increasingly expeditious rate.
So In Conclusion, we'd like to extend our deepest appreciations, words of gratitude & thankyous to, first of all, our heavenly father. Thankyou to our family of Island Breeze, the dancers& parents of tevakanui, Slades Polynesian Crafts and Youngaloha Photography! Much aloha to our DRUMMERS, without you guys, the soul and heart of the dances we do is missing. You guys are our heartbeat and rhythm, you truly are blessings and APPRECIATED! Also, to the students, dancers, parents and the comitee, much aloha. And Of course there is an uncountable number of you have supported us in many ways... Thank you! We love you all!
Who I'd like to meet:
Aunty Yvette's Dream
"To see all the groups here in Las Vegas to truly support one another and encourage one another because we all have the same heartbeat. And that is to instill in the young people who we are responsible for. It would really be awesome if we were all unified and really walk the walk and set examples in whom we've been intrusted with."

I created this Samoan themed cake for my buddy Tau. It features Samoan Tapa or SIAPO. Samoan, tapa cloth–or siapo as it is known in Samoa, is a major art form and an important symbol of Samoan culture. Tapa cloths have been used for various purposes throughout Samoan history, including as traditional clothing, burial shrouds, and ceremonial items. The traditional design elements used in siapo decoration are typically plant or animal motifs or other images from Samoan life.
I also featured the blood red hibiscus, a very iconic flower to the south pacific and particularly to Samoa.
The tapa was hand painted and the hibiscus were all hand formed using fondant and an airbrush.
Manuia lou aso fanau is what I called this creation, it means Happy Birthday in Samoan.
