THE TEXAS CHAINSAW TRAVELLING HORROR PICTURE SHOW
BlackmarketX formed in late 2005 as a partnership between Daniel Blackmoor and Marcus Watson to create The Texas Chainsaw Travelling Horror Picture Show. The basic concept of this unique event is to bring theatre to live music audiences and each show is designed to combine theatre, film, performance art, dance and bands to create a live horror movie experience for alternative music fans.
Using local, national and international bands to play roles in their theatre production, BlackmarketX manages to bring theatre to a whole new generation. Music fans jaded by years of live gigs now find something new and exciting, not only their favourite bands presented in a new light, but also exposure to new bands and music genres they might not have explored before. By wrapping the bands into an over-the-top yet hilarious theatrical performance, these events serve to completely break down the artificial boundaries of music preferences. Seamlessly mixing classical with alternative, lounge with rock-n-roll, and even metal with opera, they create a unique experience that never fails to attract a very diverse crowd.
It's the stage show, however, that's the star here. The clever use of film mixed in with the live experience opens up entirely new dimensions, allowing the impossible to be performed at every turn and giving the horror film fans more of what they've been dying for…no longer are they safe to sit back in their theatres and living rooms. The possibilities are endless as the action moves from on stage to the screens and back again…an incredible journey into the unreal that crosses over every boundary and sometimes right into the audience's laps!
With a powerful combination of horror and humour, the Infamous Doctor Marcusi brings his travelling show to your town, luring you in with the promise of wonders no living soul has ever laid eyes on. But beware! Behind this façade lurk diabolic intentions, as the show seems to be plagued by a never-ending series of accidents, suspicious deaths, maiming and mutilations. The body count rises, but the show must go on…even if it means no one gets out alive.
