Formed in Glasgow over 20 years ago Texas are still going strong. Sharleen Spiteri and Johnny McElhone are the well-established songwriting team behind Texas. The pair have been writing together for over 18 years.
At the start of the new millennium, Texas had recorded five albums and had fifteen million record sales. The fantastic back catalogue includes debut album 'SOUTHSIDE', 'MOTHERS HEAVEN', 'RICKS ROAD' and cult comeback album ‘WHITE ON BLONDE' which sat in the top 40 for over a year thanks to hits 'Say What You Want', 'Halo' and 'Black Eyed Boy'. Sharleen and Johnny were also rewarded with a prestigious Ivor Novello award for the Best Song Collection.
The follow-up album 'THE HUSH' became their international breakthrough album, taking Europe by storm.
In 2000 Texas released their 'GREATEST HITS' album which included new material - 'In Demand' and 'Inner Smile' which went on to be hit singles.
After a 3 year break Texas returned with 'CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR'.
Their eighth album - 'RED BOOK' was released in October 2005 with the introduction of new band member keyboardist and programmer - Michael Bannister.
In 2007 Texas released 'THE BBC SESSIONS' - a collection of the bands' in session recordings made at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios during the promotional tours for some of their previous albums from 1989-2003. The album features 'alternate' versions of many of their greatest hits including 'Everyday Now', 'Tired Of Being Alone' and 'I'll See It Through'.
Sharleen Spiteri headlined the 2006 Night of the Proms at the Antwerp Sportpaleis in Belgium. Accompanied by the Ilnovecento Orchestra Sharleen performed some of Texas' greatest hits.
Sharleen’s first solo album "Melody" is out now. Sharleen completed her first solo UK tour in February 2009.
Ally is currently working with his own band TREASURE TONES. Their debut EP 'ToneTwist' is available to download now on UK itunes. Alongside his wife Shelly, Ally is also involved in a new musical project - RED SKY JULY.

Tony is currently writing and playing with his own band KIZZY STAR. Kizzy Star have toured as Sharleen's support act on her recent solo tour.
They will release their 1st single 'Out of Control' in February 2009.
Johnny and Michael have worked with Sharleen on her solo album.
