Texas in Paris (aka Baptiste Hamon) is a french anti-folk band formed in 2006. After one year playing in the underground rock'n roll bars of Paris (Shebeen, Pop In, OPA), Baptiste (also called Boozin' Batt, as a to reference to Ramblin' Jack Eliott) left to Norway where he planned to record his first album by the end of 2008.
And I must warn you right now : this band is great. Great, yep. Seing Texas in Paris live brings you back to the beginning of the 60s, when Dylan brought some fresh air among the musical scene of that time. With real talent, an impressive charism, and some provocative lyrics that sound like watchword (« Real punks ride horses »), Texas in Paris concerts -solo or not- are the best thing I could wish you for curing your current gloominess. It's just like you had crossed an early Dylan with an old Daniel Johnston, with a bit of Adam Green and Townes Van Zandt. And believe me, the combination is extremely promising.
Looking forward to hearing a full record from that cool punk guy, definitely. He'll go far, just go and see him live to be sure of it. Full of ambition -and irony ?- he claimed after a concert in july 2007 : « I want to become the world's biggest star by two years ». I won't bet my poor wife on it. But I am pretty sure that Texas in Paris can become the new musical attraction of the next months. Just like Adam Green or Devendra Banhart were, some years ago.

oui tu devrais absolument venir visiter ici c'est genial. les gens sont supers chaleureux c'est un autre monde compare a la france par contre. mais je suis sure que t'apprecierai.
la vie est pas mal du tout ici. beaucoup moins chere. le climat est un peu fou par contre.

Salut mec, comment vas tu? Toujours à Paris? Si oui faut que l'on trouve un moyen de se voir. Je n'ai plus de portable et rentre tout juste de Londres mais jeudi j'ai un djset au bottleshop, ce serai cool de t'y voir. Ah et j'oubliais, bonne année mec.
Hé cowboy je suis de retour sur paris, si tu veux qu'on aille ecumer les bars, je suis toujours partante. Sinon pour notre dj set, jattends confirmation, mais je crois que c'etait prevu le 7 janvier.
Pour nous, elle commence pas mal : on est tellement contents de passer à l'Olympia, même pour une première partie que, du coup, on vient en parler un peu sur les pages MySpace de nos amis... En espérant que cela ne dérange pas trop !
Coucou T'es arrivé a paris alors ? Je suis repartie une semaine chez mes parents, mais je reviens fin decembre, donc ca sera cool de te croiser. Pur le dj set jai trouvé une date au Ne Nous Fachons Pas, jte dirais quand c'est.

... bon...ben moi j'hiberne un peu dernièrement parce que j'en profite pour avancer dans mes morceaux (j'ai pas composé un truc neuf depuis l'été parce que tous les soirs dehors!!!! donc je m'y remet depuis 3 semaines!! VIVE LE FROID!!!) mais je me fais quand même des petits concerts (genre Gravenhurst la semaine dernière... magnifique!!)
