Texas in Paris (aka Baptiste Hamon) is a french anti-folk band formed in 2006. After one year playing in the underground rock'n roll bars of Paris (Shebeen, Pop ITexas in Paris (aka Baptiste Hamon) is a French anti-folk band formed in 2006. After one year playing in the underground rock'n roll bars of Paris (Shebeen, Pop In, OPA), Baptiste (also called Boozin' Batt, in reference to Ramblin' Jack Elliott) went to Norway where he planned to record his first album by the end of 2008. And I must warn you right now: this band is great. Great, yep. Seeing Texas in Paris live brings you back to the beginning of the 60s, when Dylan brought fresh air to the musical scene of the time. With real talent, impressive charisma, and some provocative lyrics that sound like watchword (« Real punks ride horses »), Texas in Paris concerts - solo or not - are the best thing I could wish on you to cure your gloominess. It's as if you had crossed early Dylan with old Daniel Johnston, along with a bit of Adam Green and Townes Van Zandt. And believe me, the combination is extremely promising. Looking forward to hearing a full record from that cool punk guy, definitely. He'll go far, just go and see him live to believe it. Full of ambition - and irony ? - he claimed after a concert in July 2007 : « I want to become the world's biggest star within two years ». I won't bet my poor wife on it. But I am pretty sure that Texas in Paris can become the new musical attraction of the coming months. Just like Adam Green or Devendra Banhart were, some years ago.

REAL PUNKS RIDE HORSES !
GREATEST SONG EVER ?
Ratel
