First, it was No. 1 rock critic Dave Marsh calling “La Conquistadora” one his favorite albums of 2008.
Now, the author of the new Willie Nelson book is high on the Chicano garage rockers new album.
Legendary music journalist and best-selling author Joe Nick Patoski’s review/essay of The Krayolas “La Conquistadora” is in Sunday’s edition of the San Antonio Express-News.
Believe it ot not, those clicks are important to the bean counters of the world.
Joe Nick Patoski is the author of definitive books on Selena, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Willie Nelson. His latest book is the acclaimed “Willie Nelson: An Epic Life.”
Thank you for keeping the arts, local music and rock ‘n’ roll music journalism alive.
Love and kisses.
Texas Monthly, Pollstar, Harper’s Magazine, San Antonio Current and Austin Chronicle are praising “La Conquistadora. ”

BUILDING A TEXAS MUSIC TOWN.... Hunter Land And Cattle Company has aquired 60 acres of old Mesquite and Live oak covered ranchland only 30 minutes from downtown Austin and San Antonio, dead centered to the mile, 2 exits from New Braunfels and the Guadalupe river and only one exit from the San Marcos Outlet Malls and new convention center. Located only 6 miles straight out of the front door of Gruene Hall along the historic "EL CAMINO REAL" lies the ghost town of Hunter and the oldest tavern in Texas, Riley's. I have planned more than three miles of brick streets, Main street, Red Dirt Ridge blvd., Strait Square and 3 cross streets with century old building restrictions and historical buildings from around the state. I plan to preserve and reconstruct a complete town that will accurately represent authentic Texas architecture and history complete with all the shopping and expected hill country crafts and antiques, but also with sports and leisure activities geared more to entertaining the men folk. A number of businesses have committed to the project and are under construction. Some of those include The Rattler Range & Grill, driving range and cantina, Caballo Blanco Rodeo Co. with arena and Chute Club steakhouse and dancehall over the buckin chutes, a tractor museum, old mainstreet hotels with balconies over the street and 15 creekside restaurants overlooking the 20 acre Texas Music Park main stage and golf course. And if all that's too much for ya, just plop your hiney in a toob and float the creek through town from underwater bars to outdoor venues, ice cream parlors, dancehalls, cantinas, soda shops and saloons where you will see dozens of live Texas Music artists daily. Imagine a Branson for the Texas and Red Dirt hands BUT in a pre-planned perfect old town under thousands of century old Live Oak and Mesquite shade trees. COMMENTS APPRECIATED, MUCH OBLIGED !
