Wow, so many, mostly blues players like Freddie King, Albert and BB, Elmore James. Everybody from Ray Charles to Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, Chuck Berry, Little Richard. A lot of Johnny Winter, Billy Gibbons, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Kossoff, SRV. Even Benny Goodman, Mario Lanza and Mahalia Jackson. As for engineers, the man was Tom Dowd, Andy Johns is another. Free, Skynard, Blind Faith, Rockabilly, Johnny Cash.

I really don't know yet what I'm going to sound like, it's a baby who has just been born. I'll find out.....
Hi, I'm Big Daddy, the song you hear is my first attempt to record on a Roland VS 2400. I'm new to recording but have been playing guitar for close to 40 years. I play Blues, Classic Rock, Old Soul, Old R&B, Southern Rock and whatever else my fingers can do. Hopefully in the future I will be adding more songs not just a 12 bar blues jam. I hope you like whatever I put up there.
The picture I used on my profile was from a demo tape I sent to Alligator records in the 1980's. People think I was trying to look like SRV in it, I wasn't.
I started playing guitar when I was about 9 or 10 but did not know what I was doing and had no guidance. At about 12 I got a Fender bass for my birthday and tried that because nobody played bass. But guitar was my true calling and by 15 I was playing guitar again and going at it like a maniac. I bought every album I could find and sat for hours every day practicing and listening to every blues and bluesrock band and guitar player until I was about 18 years old.
I wanted to get into the music world, if not as a player then in anyway I could, in any position. Well, I did and was disappointed to find out the reality of the business. I stopped playing for many years but went back to it and did a demo in the early 1980's. The music business had changed by then, blues was coming back a bit but it was so hard to get someone to listen to you. I got a full time civil service job that demanded too much time to be able to play music. Again I stopped playing.
I developed a spinal problems due to some injuries on the job and had to retire. I was a bus operator for the NYCTA in Manhattan NYC. Now I am almost completely unable to do so many things people take for granted. I don't leave my house much but to go to doctors. My life is my music and I give it everything I have.
Being here and hearing that people enjoyed what I did is satisfaction enough, that's what keeps me going.
