About me: How I learned to HATE the bomb. The "almost making of" Waldo...The concept for "Waldo's Hawaiian Holiday" is a story of a young man
looking for the American dream. This young man struggles through lousy
jobs, deals with multiple characters who are involved in their own
pursuit of the same dream. He serendipitously obtains two tickets for a
fun-filled trip to Hawaii, yet is destined to never take the trip, let
alone achieve any of his dreams. His destiny is controlled by outside
agencies with their own agendas.
It turns out the dream we had to make this project come to fruition
became a mirror to the script, struggling to bring a difficult story to
life only to find out this project was destined to never be completed.
Waldo's life is interrupted by fate, this project had a more substantive
influence directing its fate. Searching for a project to meet the goals
and objectives of AntStuie, to make an independent film without the
constricting noose of standard film production processes, often lead us
to produce projects with persons who are disenchanted with the "status
quo" of big budget films. One only need view the struggles Terry
Gilliam endured in his attempt to create his "Don Quixote" documented in
"Lost in La Mancha" to realize why. We at AntStuie felt we had
contacted a kindred spirit in the script writer, who had appeared to struggle
with the same issues in producing many of his films. Eventually, it
became evident our perceptions fell disastrously short of reality...
