TUA was the brainchild of Jeff "JeffResh" Sellers and Benjamin "181" Jeffers Lopez and evolved from another group called "Underground Siblings". In their formative years Jeffrey and Benjamin were fascinated by underground hiphop particularly the anti-conformist and anti-mainstream ideologies associated with the sub-genre.

The two young men were ready to take the industry by storm rapping on subjects as diverse as taking down the "A&R's" to working for the "man" to a fellow we will call "Joe" who tragically overcame his handicap to become a great disc jockey.

In approximately the year two thousand the "Underground Siblings" became "Texas Unemployment Agency." Shortly after the conception of the "Underground Siblings," Paul "Tactic" Lopez and his friends began to emulate themselves after Paul's brother, Ben "181" Lopez, and they formed a loose network of emcees and called themselves "Mekanikal Tekneex."

The man that started TUA's (Underground Siblings at the time) rap career, Joel "The Aggravated Jew" Beard was no where to be found. He was a freestyle legend and lit a fire under the skin of the other T.U.A. members with the freestyle titled "Meat and Bun Only."

In 2004 Paul "Tactic" Lopez and Joel "The Aggravated Jew" Beard became unofficial members of TUA. In 2005 it became official with the inclusion of their names on the third TUA t-shirt design.

TUA's face has changed over the years as has there sound but their passion and ability to overcome adversity is amazing and listeners should expect big things from the crew in the years to come.

TUA’s entrepreneurial spirit is evidenced by the TUA line of t-shirts, hoodies, bumper stickers, mugs, and aprons. The band’s logo continues to evolve, just like the sound of the band. As the members continue to mature and grow as people, the sound and content of our lyrics change with it.

I’m happy to report that all the members of TUA are now College graduates. Paul “Tactic” Lopez and Joel “The Aggravated Jew” Beard both graduated from Texas State. Ben “181” Lopez is a graduate of Oklahoma University. And Jeff “JeffResh” Sellers is a graduate of the University of Texas.

TUA is fresh off the plane from our show in hollywood and glad to be back in the lab. Expect around six new tracks worth of material to be out by the new year!!!
