Born in Columbus, Georgia on April 5, 1969 at Fort Benning Army Hospital. Brady was a seven-dollar baby. Brady began singing at the age of four in his church choir. Musicians influenced Brady, but Waylon, Willie, and John Denver were his major influences in the 70’s. Brady’s father, a classical guitarist, taught Brady to play guitar at an early age. His major 80’s influences were George Strait and Keith Whitley. This put Brady on a path to becoming a singer/songwriter. Brady enjoys several genres of music and began writing lyrics at the age of 18. He never really wrote music to his lyrics until he met up with D. Sweeter in 1991. Brady co-wrote over 150 songs with D. between 1991-2008! Sadly, Dave passed away on Feb.14th, 2009! Rest In Peace Bro! Also in 1993 Brady met Sonny Christopher a
publisher/singer/songwriter in Ft.Worth! Christopher introduced Brady to "Howard Crockett" who wrote hits in the 50’s for Johnny Horton, such as "Whisperin' Pines", "Slew Foot The Bear", and his biggest hit, "Honky Tonk Man", which was also recorded by Dwight Yoakam in ‘86. Brady started his first band called "Southern Thunder" after leaving the U.S. Navy in 1991. Brady also played in "The Lone Rider Band", which played country, rock and blues from 92 - 93. In the summer of 1993, Brady was on cable access channel 25B in Dallas on Don Parker and Jim Haiffpower’s Country Music Video Show where Brady sang and showed off some of his other talents (hamboning)lol. They also invited Brady to record a video of his song "Rainbow in the Sky". On the day of the shoot, Brady wished for a rainbow to appear in the sky and to the amazement of his friends and family a rainbow appeared 15 minutes after his request. Brady also had a rainbow appear in the sky on August 16, 1976, the day he became a Christian. Through the years Brady has seen rainbows appear on,sad, happy and even mysterious occasions. After leaving "The Lone Rider Band", Brady worked with Crockett up until the time of his death in Dec. 1994. Howard was one of Brady’s biggest mentors. Howard pushed Brady and told him before his death never to give up. After Howard’s death Brady began to record his own songs in the recording studio and hone his craft. Brady produced his songs with musicians and engineers throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. In 1996, Brady sent his material to his distant relative, "Mae Boren Axton", who co-wrote "Heartbreak Hotel" for Elvis, and was his first PR lady. Mae was also known as Mother Mae to other artists and songwriters in Nashville. Her son was Hoyt Axton, who wrote "Joy to the World", "Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog", "Bony Fingers" and "Della Was A Dealer". She encouraged Brady up until the time of her death in 1997. Mae Boren was also the Godmother to Garth Brook’s children. In 1997, Brady finished his first album, "A Salute to Johnny Horton, and Howard Crockett", Legends of the Backwoods, titled "Tyler". Brady received some airplay in Texas and overseas on the album.
In 1999 and 2000, Brady started recording his second album at the biggest studios in Nashville such as Sound Emporium and Nightingale Studios, home to some of the biggest country music singers. His second album was titled "Waitin’ For the River to Rise". Brady had some of the biggest studio musicians such as Martin Young (Clint Black’s rhythm guitar player) and Mike Daily, who played steel guitar for Hank Williams Jr. along with others. Brady finished his 2nd album in the summer of 2000 and also 2001 and recorded "Waitin’ For the River to Rise" for Bill Mack, the Midnight Cowboy, who wrote Blue for Leann Rimes along with many others. Brady titled his 2nd cd after the Bill Mack tune! Art Ward who worked with the "Tyler Music Group" at the time helped Brady produce his Nashville recorded cd!
Brady was elated at the time it was finished because he really thought
Art was going to help him produce a rock/pop/country cd! Turns out
Brady returned to Texas with a cd that is traditional as they come and no one was more proud of it than Brady!
Bill Mack(The Midnight Cowboy) was also the DJ for many years at WBAP 820 AM in Dallas/Ft.Worth for all the truckers across America. Bill played Brady’s song "Emotional Rollercoaster", which he spotlighted in his "Overdrive Country Countdown Top 10"in June of 2000 and also named Brady the "Dynamic Discovery" for that week. Also starting in the summer of 2001, Brady played in the band "Still Pickin’ "who also played his originals until he left in October 2001. Brady has co-written songs with Jon Rutherford, who co-wrote with Leann Rimes on her Blue album. He co-wrote 7, "Talk to Me" and has also been featured in some of her movies. Brady co-wrote a song titled "Real Desire" with Jon! You can find Jon on his top friends here! Brady has also co-written alot of songs with David Samuel Thornton/a.k.a. D. Sweeter, Todd Payne, Sonny Christopher, Jay Huvall, Brad Powers(Freddy Power's cousin) and a few others over the years! Brady resigned from the postal service in 2003 to move to Austin where Brady started his new record label "Textronic Troubadour Records". Brady has started the beginning process of recording his third album," Rocket to Stardom/Flipside to Fame" Livin' In The United States Of Texas" The Brady Redding Story! Brady continues to work with new singer/songwriters, artists and bands and is always looking for new talent.
Brady used to play the live music scene in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area
off and on throughout the 90's and into 2000-2002 but after years of playing
the honky tonks Brady grew tired of always having to sing top 40 country and left the live scene! Brady is a true stage entertainer but his heart
has always been with his original songs! Brady hopes to start recording
his 3rd CD in the coming months and also start adding more videos of his original songs to his myspace site! Brady also wants to start playin live again very soon so be on the lookout for new things and surprises in the coming months!
One thing is for sure Brady has no illusions of how hard it is to make it
in the music business, especially since the rise of the internet and one thing
he doesn't do anymore is kid himself! Brady will add other pertinent information about his climb in the coming months but wanted to ad this info to his myspace music profile so You could get a better glimpse of Brady as a Proud Texas Country Music Singers/Songwriter! He does have a story no one else has!
