Bio
Conventional wisdom would suggest that this sentence should be truly spectacular and attention grabbing. A band bio needs to captivate, if not pontificate on the unprecedented success of the subject. There is nothing wrong with stating achievements or accolades but to shamelessly bandstand and exaggerate for the sake of attention seems unfitting of The Fifth Business, a hardworking indie rock band from Burlington, VT (if you simply must have a list of achievements please see appendix A.) They are uninterested in becoming the next YouTube sensation or FreeCreditScore.com salesmen and would prefer that you let their music speak for itself. Things that The Fifth Business find pleasing: Honesty, integrity, Budweiser & PBR, nice beer, Scotch, The American Dream, American Spirits, grit, dirt, patina, intellectual freedom, liberty, family, friends, youthfulness, wisdom, being sensible, being absurd, Zach Island, Buffalo Bill impressions, Dave Grohl hitting things, FRESH POTTTTS!, classic video games, technology, WOLVERINES!, bozos, music by (but not limited to) Modest Mouse, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Elliott Smith, Erik Satie, Built To Spill, Weezer (like fine Scotch, the earlier the better), & the Dismemberment Plan. Things that The Fifth Business would prefer to avoid: Dicks, hangovers, apartheid, jabroni’s, fundamentalism (especially in weird Christian teen centers that sell electronic cigarettes), conflict (unless it drives creativity), broken bottles, appendixes, required reading, elitism, pretentiousness, estrangement, stagnation, hotpants (except for Michael), Michael's love of hot pants, Kenneth Stammp, Strom Thurman, Uma Thurman, the KGB, existentialism, hipsters with yo-yos and copies of The Great Gatsby at the OP, and pretty much anything else that doesn’t somehow enhance the human experience. Confused? Upset? Perhaps a little aroused? Good. Please make the most of your current emotional state and give The Fifth Business a listen. Then, and only then, will you be qualified to decide for yourself. Appendix A. -Opened for nationally known bands, Of Montreal, and Paper Tongues. -Featured on the following radio stations: 99.9 The Buzz, WRUV, 105.9 FM The Radiator -Positive reviews by: Seven Days, The Vermont Cynic, The Watertower, The Deli Magazine -
