Tha Archivez has a style that is all his own. Maybe because he has been rhyming for tha last 23 years.
Tha Archivez (KENE-J) is the North Dallas, Texas born - East Oakland, California raised Hip Hop impressio has been known in the Bay Area underground scene for almost a decade. His first record came out December 2000. It was called,"We Might Eat Tonight". That CD included a song called,"Rock Like Me". That very song was placed on KMEL's " Pump it or Dump it" show in June 1993. People had called in to say,"PUMP IT". Tha Archivez put the term,"hyfee" on record in May 2003 with his fourth effort called,"THE M.O. Maximum Overload". The name of that song was called,"Mr. Hyfee". He was the very first Bay Area artist to do so. Since that time, several Bay Area artist claim they are responsible for the term. ALL FALSE! Tha Archivez has appeared on many stages in the past decade such as: Bench and Bar(OAKLAND), Red Devil Lounge(SAN FRANCISCO), Club Galia-now known as 12 Galaxies(SAN FRANCISCO), 2232 MLK(OAKLAND), Mama Buzz cafe(OAKLAND)Skylark(SAN FRANCISCO), Elbo Room(SAN FRANCISCO), The Rainbow Room(HAYWARD), The Ivy Room(ALBANY),People's Park(BERKELEY),Temescal Art center(OAKLAND), Humanist Hall(OAKLAND)- to name a few.Tha Archivez is known for perfroming on bills with the somebodies to the nobodies. He has released eleven solo albums, two group albums and three different compilations. These are all underground/grass root releases. Most of them have even made it to record stores and selling good there as well.
The latest record ,"Almost Famous", hit record stores late 2008. This album marks the 11th time around and all the tricks comes out the magic bag, with the two singles"The Have Nots" and "Extra Ruff". In addition to his own reocrd, Tha Archivez is taking on the task of making new stars in the the bay area underground scene such as:Skilt Music with his debut album,"Make It Happen", in stores now. He also has plans to start a clothing line, in the near future. The sky is the limit for this music moral with a decade's experience.
