< The oral form of David Valera is Thabeat. Starts in 1987 with an instrument called a stylus. Learns the noble craft from the hands of Pedro Valera and Rafael Auraleón. Touched by the original style of Druillet, Moebius, Breccia, Bilal, Corben, Jeff Jones, Fernando Fernandez and Beá.
In 1991 takes part actively on the streets of Barcelona drawing the stroke or the fingerprints of his own marker. A cheap common resource; underground, homemade, pernicious and simple. To sum up, just idonius. He's evolution as a graffiti writer it is still on the walkside, experimenting without boundaries and different techniques.
In 1993 attends the school of Colorists of Barcelona and school of Arts and Craft and finishes Art Science at La Llotja. Everything else does it himself. Adds to his works a new space, a countertext. It turns out to be under bold uncommon perspectives, a game with a shortage of colours, with deep inclined plane points of view.
Ilustrator on every medium and space. From an aesthetic effect product to a forbidden place. He also takes part on all kinds of single and collective expositions. The culture it's based on the exchange of goods and services. With a little space for irony, chance and provocation.
Begins as an editor of a little zine all black and white to end up working hand to hand for a specialized Spanish printed press. Contributes to Serie B Magazine and Enlace funk. And he is the instigator of Upper Egypt Series. >

< El acento prosódico de David Valera es Thabeat. Se inicia en 1987 con un instrumento llamado lápiz. Aprende el noble oficio de la mano de Pedro Valera y Rafael Auraleón. Marcado por el estilo original de Druillet, Moebius, Breccia, Bilal, Corben, Jeff Jones, Fernando Fernandez y Beá.
En 1991 participa de forma activa en las calles de Barcelona plasmando el golpe y la huella de su propio marcador. Un recurso popular barato, subterráneo, pernicioso, casero y simple. En definitiva, el ideal. Su evolución como escritor de graffiti sigue a pié de calle, experimentando formas libres con diversas técnicas.
En 1993 pasa por la escuela de Coloristas de Barcelona, y la de Artes y Oficios. Y se licencia en la Llotja de Bellas Artes. Todo lo demás se lo hace él sólo. Incorpora a sus obras un nuevo espacio, un contra texto. Es el resultado bajo perspectivas audaces, insólitas, un juego de colores reducidos, con profusos y vertiginosos picados y contrapicados y escorzos muy marcados.
Ilustrador sobre cualquier soporte y espacio, desde un producto de efecto estético, hasta un lugar prohibido. También participa en todo tipo de exposiciones, individuales y colectivas. La cultura está basada en el trueque de bienes y servicios. Con un hueco a la ironía, al descaro, al azar y a la provocación.
Empieza como editor de un pequeño zine a todo blanco y negro, y acaba colaborando estrechamente en la prensa impresa y especializada de este país. Colabora para Serie B Magazine y Enlace Funk. Y es instigador del consorcio Upper Egypt Series. >
