The original name of the project - more than ten years ago - was "Treble Snail". Later I wanted something that sounds more fit to how the music of the project had changed, and came up with Thagga Slug.
ThAgGa is a shortened form of a fictional character's name of mine.
Slug and Snail both translate to the same word in German ("Schnecke"), and the extra meanings of Slug (the music can be powerful like a bullet, and I can be quite a sluggard from time to time) fit the project well.
