This song tells about moments of emptyness. The word ’pindaíba’ derives from a tupi-guarani word (native american-indian language) and it is used to express when someone is running out of money or in bad conditions.

Thais Morell is a singer, guitarist and songwriter from Brazil. She was born in Curitiba, south Brazil, and there she graduated Music Teacher at the Art’s School of Paraná. She studied singing and voice technique with Liane Guariente, specialized in Bel Canto technique applied to ethnic music. She studied Jazz singing at the MPB & Jazz Tatuí Conservatory, (Brazilian Popular Music & Jazz, São Paulo – Brazil). She studied brazilian acoustic guitar with Pedro de Paula (BRA).
As singer, she recorded 3 albums with the group BAYAKA, an orchestra that remakes traditional folk themes from various nations and cultures around the world; as singer, electric guitar player and producer, she produced and recorded 2 live albums at Paiol Teather with the band RISOFLORA, playing mostly her own songs, which mix brazilian rhythms with rock and funk moods;
Before leaving Brazil, she was working at the Brazilian Popular Music Conservatory of Curitiba as Ear Training and Music Theory teacher; She is a self-taught Pandeiro player (brazilian tambourine) and Pífano player (brazilian bamboo flute) playing the flutes that she makes herself at home. Her music experience goes across the wide field of brazilian music (Samba, Bossa-Nova, Baião, Frevo, Marchas, Fandango, etc.), traditional tribal chants, folk, soul, rock, erudite contemporary music; She has been performing in bars and cafés as a duo with a jazz drummer for 3 years, singing and playing on the guitar brazilian classics and her own tunes.
She is now studying a Master degree in Performance of Folk Music, at Sibelius Academy University, in Helsinki, Finland, with main instrument Voice. She performed at important stages as SESC Theatre (BRA), Paiol Theater (BRA), Psicodália Festival (BRA), Reitoria Theatre (BRA), Guanabara Pub (UK), Pargi Bossa Festival (EST), Art Goes Kapakka Festival (FIN), Pori Jazz Festival (FIN).
