About me:
Hello! We're the Thalian-Blackfriars Theatre Company!
Our History:
The Thalian Dramatic Club was founded at UGA in 1893, making us one of the oldest chartered theatrical societies in America. Later in 1926, another drama club emerged called the Blackfriars and the two groups rivaled until their eventual merge in 1931, under the name Thalian-Blackfriars.
In 1939, Thalians went on to help establish the Department of Theatre at UGA and today we operate within the Department as a student-run company.
Our Mission:
The mission of TBF is to provide undergraduate students with experience in all areas of theatrical productions, including acting, directing, writing, stage managing, light/costume/set design, and producing. TBF strives to create theatre that is relevant to our education, community, and world.
