MUSIC. ACTING. PRODUCING. WRITING. Entertainment. Tha L.O.C.K.
Tha L.O.C.K.’s career began around 2001 when Quentin Juarez (Yung-OP) and James Mays (Semaj) met at a local talent agency in Los Angeles, Ca. Freestyle sessions during modeling rehearsal took place more often than not, setting up a future no one saw coming. From there was created Entertainment on LOCK, five well rounded individuals in entertainment from song writing to dance choreography. They started to perform at local talent shows and County fairs to create a fan base and share their talents with the world. Shortly after only a few performances, three of the five members fell off and E.O.L. was left with two. Yung Op and Semaj, who continued on with the dream of making it musically started recording at a local high school in Glendale, Ca. There Tha L.O.C.K grew, learned, and polished their craft of creating good music, recording albums like “Tha MIXED Up Mix Tape” and “Ears to the Street”. They also started throwing shows at the University of Southern California called the A.L.B.U.M. (All Live Bangin Universal Music) for about year until they were shut down due to the audience capacity and a mark-up in venue pricing. What was good about the show ending for a while was that Tha L.O.C.K. got to do more things in their other areas of talent. Yung Op started to enter and win battles that took him to places like New York’s Apollo theatre, Texas and even battling at the 2003 NBA All-star weekend Freestyle Hip-Hop battle, judged by Jermaine Dupri, Lil Kim, Swiss Beat and Radio personality “Big Boy” from Power 106 in Los Angeles. Semaj began writing and engineering songs for a few musical artists like Usher, Tyreese, and Bishop Lamont. He also helped produce songs & beats, artist development, and build music studios for local and international artist. After taking some time off from the show circuit, E.O.L. decided to jump back at it full force and once again create music full time. Now under a new independent label, focused and grown-up “Tha Love of Constant Knowledge” (Tha L.O.C.K.) is taking the lessons learned over the years and applying them to their craft. With another Mixtape, The MJMixtape vol. 2 and its success, followed by the addition of two gorgeous, talented shee-jays from Northern California, Tha L.O.C.K. knows that they will finally make some noise in the world. With songs like Change, Massa, and Beautiful off there debut album, they are sending out the message “We Do what We do in OUR way” and “It’s just two of us, Doing this, doing us”. Get ready for a compilation of music from west coast artist like no other as they welcome you all to L.O.C.K’sAngeles
