The Obvious are made up of extraordinary individuals Gerard 2,3,Break and DJ A.L.F. aka First Grandson.
Starting out in late 1986 when they met at Sibonia Primary School (We think this is where Ertha Kitt also attended). The Duo have found a bond in beats and basketball. Soon Gerard was sampling beats using Tracker and dragging Alf to hip hop shows as well as raves...
Since then the duo have been churning out instrumental hip hop and downtempo along with occassional electro-ey grooving genre undefinable headf*ck music. They have suprised themselves with the quality of their production as well as their silly antics. This deadly verbal diarrhea connection has culminated in the creation of several new Eastern European countries such as Craponia and Sibonia (Where Ivan Crapov lives); Sunderland (a small suburb south of Sutherland, and under Sutherland law) etc etc...
Appearances on 2004's "Below The Above" double-CD compilation as well as 2005's "Forefronts" breakbeat compilation (also a double-CD affair), Cook'n'Kitch Remix Vinyl, Little Rascals Record's Dub Rascals 2, Foreign Dub Compilations 1 & 2 - has consolidated the crews belief that everyone is a Craponian at heart!
This duo is also the driving back-court of the very known "Unknowns" basketball team....

Joint Adventure and Basic Equipment are starting 2008 off in style. This Friday we present to you the UK's natural born spitter, Mystro, who will be performing with live latin funk band, Veneno.
This is a new concept night called Hands On. The idea is to get a well known Hip Hop act teamed up with a live band, so the two can come together and remake all of their tunes. This will hopefully be the start of a new progression in live hip hop.
Also on the night are Stones Throw's own Aloe Blacc, Triple J & Foreign Heights representative Maya Jupiter, and Alchemy Radio and 420 Crew's own DJ Jonah.
This is gonna be a fun night for lovers of hip hop and the various genres that has helped define our culture. Hope to see ya there...
