Angela (Born April 16th, 1982 in Newcastle, Tyne & Wear) is a passionate, soulful Singer and Songwriter based in London, United Kingdom. Angela's musical influences blossomed from an early age when she built an appreciation for singing through such greats as Michael Jackson, Madonna & Whitney Houston.
From primary school all the way through to high school she took every opportunity to get up on stage and sing just like her idols. School plays, talent shows and choir had all played a major role in Angela's early years.
It was a solo break in her high school choir which opened a new path of opportunities and begun her dreams of a singing career. She performed in numerous concerts & competitions. Two years of vocal coaching led her to gain the strength and confidence to perform at more and larger events. This was the case as Angela went from performing in school concerts in front of hundreds to an Arena performing in front of thousands.
Angela went on to university to keep up her academic side studying a BA (Hons) in Marketing Management. At the same time she was seeking singing opportunities and spent a good year entertaining university friends at karaoke nights where she won a place in the Yates Karaoke Finals.
Angela wanted more from her singing and one summer traveled to London to audition for various vocal groups. She was fortunate to get into girl group, G2L, and had a prosperous four years with them.
Wanting to spread her wings, she decided to go solo and looked down new routes which she had never ventured before. Being of Asian origin, Angela wanted to explore her musical roots, which lead her to Mentor (Mentor Kolektiv). He was to open a new musical style, which she quickly built a great liking to and hence they collaborated. The partnership went from initially singing in one song to featuring in two tracks which are on the new Mentor Kolektiv album 'Broke'. As yet, Angela has performed at BBC Maida Vale Studios, BBC3 Studios, Abbey Road Studios as well acoustic sets in venues around London including Rumi Bar, Kings Road Chelsea. She is currently working on her own material which will demontsrate that she is not just a singer, but a remarkable songwriter too.
Angela is destined to go very far in her music career. She brings together a blend of soulful sounds to create passionate and powerful vocals and combines it with strong and meaningful lyrics which offer a mind-blowing experience. Angela's unique sound, vocal power and dedication has already begun to send waves through the music scene and the best thing is that Angela has only just started ..........so the best is yet to come.
