The Guy Who Wears Black's Interests
General

I'm on Xbox Live! (so if I'm not here, go looking for me on there but sometimes my roommates are using my account, so it's probably not me :P).

I Love Morrigan

Writing (...for the sake of history and leaving something different and interesting behind..."why don't you come a little closer so my boot can hear you?", "calm down Leela, you can vent tonight on your blog" :P).

Writing fiction (because I've always wished and wanted so much more than what I'm limited to doing as a human being...I want wings damn it).

Comedy / writing comedy (..."I like to say that I like to write, but recently, I like to imagine that I am writing something great but just never get the chance to write it down"...).

Gothic culture (Myself and a lot of other people around look great in black...at least it brings all the attention to things of great value like the mind and face of an individual...unlike how pop culture wants to divert all attention away from the head region and onto other things like horrible clothes, ridiculous cars and *gag reflex* 'bling'...).

Film Making, taking a memory, a moment or an idea and presenting it in a entertaining way to a waiting / demanding audience (And you can see for yourself that I've been frequently requested to film a handful of local and talented music acts)...

.

Books (Humour, autobiographies, manga's...I almost buy every book I open...I don't bother with magazines...).

Climbing anything (Buildings, houses, street lights...don't tell me not to do it, I'll just climb up higher and out of range so I can't hear you :P).

No Limit Texas Hold 'em poker (..."I don't have a gambling problem, I have a problem winning in that, it doesn't happen often enough" :P).

Chess. Can never play too many games (I own seven chess boards, that's how much I like it).

Sleeping. It's kind of like a hobby, isn't it? (and who doesn't like sleeping?).

Bondage? (...wait, I think I was meant to keep that one to myself...don't get too tied up in it :P).

Things that make me go 'mmm' (...mmm) and the occasional spontanious idea...if it's fun, I'll do it.

About me:
Dear Reader

...(...for what is almost the short version of everything below...)...
...(CLICK HERE to read the quick point form facts blog about me)...

"Live everyday as if it's the best day of your life..."
- Tagline from the film "Reign Over Me"

I hope that you’ve arrived at my page to confirm that you've discovered someone different and interesting (and maybe too even learn something...you never know) because this whole thing about me that I've put together piece by piece for a little while here now is pretty long but pretty good...so if you're not into reading a great deal about me, click the link above about the quick point form blog...

"You're familiar with the phrase "man's reach exceeds his grasp"? It's a lie...man's grasp exceeds his nerve...."
- Nikola Tesla from the Prestige

I'm here…(...it's an odd way to begin an introduction, isn‘t it?) and hopefully I’m still here everyday after that (...is that too much optimism? Want to check up on me, just to be sure I‘m still here? Then Click ***HERE*** to SUBSCRIBE to my blog)...

...(I designed this little insignia...it's mine, and no, you can't have the code and paste it wherever you like :P )...

That "sense of humour" thing that people are so often looking for in another person, a partner or a friend (liars! You'll laugh at anything handsome people say!...so laugh at me already?) you'll discover that in abundance with me because I'm a little bit of a joker, a heavy metal harlequin (you can't kill the metal...the metal will live on) and a human highlight reel of death defying comedy (but I'm shy and quiet around new people...I must be a little more silly than usual :P), however on the more in-depth, thoughtful and philosophical side of the coin, quite frequently and voluntarily, I make what I consider to be great efforts to help others (from lending an ear to donating blood every couple of months or so)...

"The training is nothing! The will is everything! The will to act..."
- Henri Ducard from Batman Begins

I make the effort to help my friends or strangers in whatever way I can, I make the effort to go out of my way for them and most importantly, I make the effort to be fair to others (and the reason for these efforts is this…with all that I am limited to doing as a human being, to make such efforts is perhaps the most decent and valuable thing I could do in a day for anyone...even you) because it's not nearly enough to believe in 'helping others' or 'being fair' or even to highlight and like such attributes (like peace, love & understanding), it's whether or not you're actually making the effort towards those kinds of things that determine what kind of a person you are (and if you're making the effort to lie, insult & upset people to sway things into your favour...then you have a hole in your heart...and such behaviour cannot fill it)...

"What would you rather? To settle an argument together or to win an argument & celebrate alone?..."
- Matthew Cooper

Enough of the depth, let’s enjoy the shallow end for a moment (but don‘t worry, I’m more than likely to plunge back into the deep end sometime...I enjoy it, I hope you do too) and allow me to explain what it is I do exactly...I'm a very nocturnal individual, I sometimes sleep during the daytime (for those taking notes, that's the best time to uncover my king sized coffin and stab a wooden stake through my heart...remember young vampires, don't run with wooden stakes :P) and I often live & roam during the nights (with my night dwelling friends, watching movies, playing games, filming things like my friends musical performances or my own amusing / bizarre antics)...

I believe my best attribute would have to be the wheels in my mind, always turning, always brooding on a large variety of ideas (whether they be practical or amusing) which means I'm rarely bored or doing nothing, I'm always thinking of something or someone…sometimes this constant cluster of thought prevents me from sleeping (but then again, I wouldn't be any fun to be around if I were asleep...or would I? ;)), giving me time to put together silly things like this...

I like to climb things & hang out in high places (balconies, ceiling rafters, rooftops…heights don’t‘ scare me and they shouldn‘t scare you either) and I always have loved ascending to heights that others don‘t dare to reach…literally and figuratively speaking (I've covered the back of my bedroom door with ambition post-it's...you'll probably hear all about it sometime), so you shouldn't find it terribly strange if you discover me above you somewhere…hanging upside-down (although I'll always argue that YOU are the one who is silly and upside-down :P).

"When will you understand that being normal isn't necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage..."
- Unknown

I'd like to voluntarily develop a little something called Midnight Disease (even though I think I already have), or in medical terms, Hypergraphia (The driving compulsion to write; the overwhelming urge to write. I'd rather have this than writer's block, could pay off and also means I drop by MySpace at least once a week) so that all the ideas I have could literally spew out of my imagination and into print.

"The only downside to a zombie apocalypse is pretending that I'm not excited..."
- The title of a group on FaceBook

I'm a multimedia guru and have been able to literally surround myself with the things I truly love because of it (music for one...mostly metal, randomly rock, preferably punk, occasionally acoustic, sometimes soundtracks and idyllically instrumental), I've been dabbling in just about every aspect of media & putting it to good use for a handful of local musicians for quite some time now (with promotion, advertising, video, photography, writing, web design, graphic design etc. )...to give you an example, I put together just about everything you see here on my home page (even the banners below!).

I used to think that my ideas & dreams of standing out were very avant-garde (although I think a lot of people have adopted these ideas & dreams now), like how I don't want to in fit in with the crowd, how I don't believe in meeting the standards made and presented to me by others (especially the outrageous double standards set by some biased, hypocritical, pompous snobs :P) and how I'm not too keen on following the trends set by popular culture...

"Peer pressure is ironic because, your peers aren't people who pressure you into conforming with what they want you to do..."
- Matthew Cooper

I'd rather stand out (and if I can stand out wearing black clothes all night, I can do anything ^_^), set, achieve and exceed my own standards, goals and expectations and craft my own trends with my never ending ideas (I'd encourage anybody to 'not' fit in but stand out instead...except if it meant wearing really loud, obnoxious clothing)...you could fathom that this unpopular approach to living would occasionally have me being described as having slightly odd behaviour (but then again, what's 'normal' behaviour these days?...it's a rhetorical question :P).

"insert deep, meaningful, amusing, philosophical jargan here..."
- Matthew Cooper

I've refused to take life so serious (Because I'm living everyday as if it's the best day of my lifeif I‘m taking something seriously, then it must be important) which is probably why a seemingly small number of people of particular interest in my life hate me (people that hate me do exist unfortunately, I won't deny that idea). There are so many people being unreasonable and determined to justify everything said and done in anger to which their efforts benefit & help nobody, such behaviour is so useless and doesn't often win you friends, settle arguments or help anything (someone I know lost a lot of friends & made a lot of enemies for such irrational behaviour), yet, my being funny, creative, outstanding, perhaps most importantly fair toward others and permitting a little craziness into the more fun parts of my life has kept a greater number of people in my life as friends.

Jareth "I have been generous up 'til now. I can be cruel."
Sarah "Generous? What have you done that's generous?"
Jareth "Everything! Everything that you wanted I have done. You asked that the child be taken. I took him. You cowered before me, I was frightening. I have reordered time. I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you! I am exhausted from living up to your expectations of me. Isn't that generous?"
- Jareth & Sarah from Labyrinth

And to conclude, according to this greater number of people, I'm funny, friendly, charming and handsome (even my enemies have thought so...and if they haven't, I'd like to hear from them again)...so at least you can gather that I am surrounded by very kind individuals quite a bit, but just to be fair and certain that I possess all those attributes, you probably should discover more about me for yourself (go on, I dare you :)).

If you were to make the effort to leave me a message or a comment or anything, I'd be certain to make a little effort to reply. ^_^

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who meets this critera.
*Funny
*Fair
*Curious
...and anybody crazier than me...although, I think that's just impossible, but I have been wrong in the past, there are people crazier than me (*cough* you know who you are... *cough*)...pardon me, that particular cough is a little infectious...

Slipknot (with or without their masks...again in '09 hopefully ^_^), because Sid (zero), Joey (one), Paul (two), Chris (three), James (four), Craig (five), Shawn (six), Mick (seven) and Corey (eight) tour into oblivion (when they don't even need too...that's dedication to their fanbase) and inspire near rioting conditions in their fanatical fanbase when they perform live with their utterly monsterous intensity like it's the last day on Earth for everyone (so they're terrifying individuals...interesting but terrifying, I like that :))...

Marilyn Manson and Twiggy Ramirez, because of their surprisingly levelheaded, intelligent and rational thinking, their style that they have forged as their own and perhaps most importantly, they're perhaps two of the most honestly spoken people in general as well as in their music (there is no sugar coating on what they have to say and infact, most of what they have to say is bittersweet...so much so, that it's true).

Matt Stone and Trey Parker, for currently conquering the globe with the most unlikely of plans for success...providing a current social commentary on the world from the perspective of bastard fourth graders that consists of being politically incorrect, exploiting excessive violence, littering brutal language everywhere and plastering smutty imagery all over our idiot boxes (and their films are pretty hilarious too)...their view on the world may be disgusting, obscene, horrifying and outrageous, but their work doesn't seem as bad on comparison to what's actually going on out there in the world.

David Grohl (the nicest guy in rock 'n roll), because I've practically grown up listening to something with him in it, he's transcended genres over the years, has to have one awesome rhythm constantly flowing through his veins to be this awesome for this long, a whole lot of patience and a whole lot of hard work to make it all sound as good as it does.

Jack Black, because he's excellent on a guitar, has pure white light for a singing voice and is a sexy beast (if you happen to catch Jack makin' sweet love to a lady, you will go blind from awesomeness :P)...and even more hilarious than that very statement, he can be effortlessly funny no matter what he's doing.

Johnny Depp, because of his curious pattern of thought and just as fascinating oddball behavior (which seems to be well accepted by anyone). For the most part, his roles in film have taught me that it's okay to be different, it's okay to fail (because it's better to fail and learn, make an effort to try again for success rather than putting all your effort into avoiding failure...at least you gain a little more from failure) and that you should aim to succeed on your terms and no one elses(examples being Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood and Jack Sparrow).

Tim Burton, because he has to be one of the most fascinating of many gifted storytellers and artists, his works appear so dark and grey, however they're so rich, dynamic and full of life (despite the presence of the morbid and the dead :P) beneath the surface.

Bill Murray, because his deadpan behavior and inteligent humor is surprisingly the life of a lot of parties. We need more happy faces like Bill Murray in our lives :P

Guillermo Del Toro, because his imagination and enthusiasm that is brought to the silver screen is beyond explanation, his work is the product of a vast mind that knows no limitations. Look for all of his work in film, I mean it.

Gene Wilder, because of his comic nature and singing contributions. Whenever I'm feeling down, singing or listening too 'Pure Imagination' from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory always lifts my spirits.

The Tiananmen Square Tank Man, who courageously stood his ground before a column of tanks on the Avenue of Eternal Peace in a bold showing of defiance, and even approached and climbed onto the heavyily armed vehicle to exchange words with the soldiers inside.

After all others had been brutally silenced, his lonely act of daring against the soldiers piloting the approaching war machines and the Chinese regime they represented, expressed all the frustration of one person in the face of a deadly army and a massive force, greater in numbers, but nowhere greater than this man's courage to stand against all the corruption and injustice he and protesters like him were forced to endure.

...to this day, who he was and what became of him remains a mystery...

And especially you (you must've been kept pretty interested reading everything above to reach this point, right?)
...because for whatever reason, you felt I was worth checking out today ^_^

...and I thank you for that...

(but if you want to leave comments, you gotta be my friend first, so nyah! :P)

It's less than two weeks to Cabaret Nocturne, and in an attempt to keep it interesting we're having a Superheroes & Villains costume party! The perfect excuse to dress up like a nong, get totally f*cked up and pretend you can fly!! Get cracking cos this night will sneak up on you like a peeping tom at your window, and before you know it you'll be pinning a bath towel to your shoulders and wearing your jocks over your pants.
That would be unacceptables, because that is what I am planning to wear!

Spiderman, The Green Lantern, Silver Surfer, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Catwoman, The Joker, Wolverine, Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man, Human Torch, Robin, Lois Lane, Incredible Hulk, Greatest American Hero, Magneto, Silk Spectre, Dr Manhattan etc etc etc!!

Cheap entry in Superhero/Villain costume - remember costume is not mandatory, come dressed any way you like!

THIS FRIDAY Come and get hammered with us at our NEW VENUE!! The legendary Royal Melbourne Hotel (the old Paladin) http://rmh. com. au

This will be the SOUNDWAVE AFTER PARTY, plenty of NIN in the mix!

We are pleased to announce DJ Church all the way from the USA will be joining an already stellar lineup on the night! DJ Church has over 15 years experience spinning everything from 80's new wave and old school goth right through to hard industrial/EBM beats, a perfect match for Cabaret Nocturne!

Also rocking your jocks will be this motley crew of deviants and misfits:

Tommy Rotten
Lobotomy
C'Rexx
Matt Sin
Hellfudge & Caz (her exclusive Melbourne appearance before returning to London!)
