The first That Devil Music took place in Bacchus, Glasgow in May 2008 before moving to MacSorley's and finally going acoustic at The State Bar. Guest performers appearing with Craig Hughes have included Missing Cat,Sleepy Eyes Nelson, Tragic O'Hara, The Dirt, Man Gone Missing, Doghouse Roses, Emma Forman, Bad Bad Craig, The Bluesfather, Bad Boogaloo , James Apollofrom the USA and Black River Bluesman & The Croaking Lizard from Finland.


Before the move to the State, TDM's sister night, Don't Mess With Texas was running there, hosted by What's That Noise. An acoustic night featuring mostly country (where TDM concentrated on blues), Don't Mess With Texas acts included Coconut University, The Lonesome Hearts, Rick Redbeard and The Invisible Republic as well as Craig Hughes and loads more to boot (with various special combined TDM/DMWT promotions featuring the likes of Tony McPhee, Mark Cool, Lou Vargo and Dave Arcari)...
