**Teen suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among young adults and adolescents 15 to 24 years of age in the U.S., following unintentional injuries and homicide.
**On average, a young person (age 15-24) dies by suicide every 2 hours and 12 minutes.
**There are an estimated 8-25 attempted suicides for each teen suicide death; more females than males report a history of attempted suicide, with a gender ratio of 3:1.
**Four out of five teens who attempt suicide have given clear warnings.

On the COMPLETE opposite end of the kidlit spectrum, thatgirlygirl has sold poetry, short stories, and nonfiction articles to various print and online magazines including Highlights for Children, Guideposts for Kids, Hopscotch, Spider, and Humpty Dumpty's Magazine. In addition, she has completed more than two but fewer than eight hundred picture book manuscripts.
thatgirlygirl likes spicy tex-mex, fast roller coasters, and people with a wicked sense of humor. If thatgirlygirl were a color, she'd be hot pink with yellow polka dots. Yeah.
This is thatgirlygirl, hard at work on the novel which will make her rich and famous crazy. She's already halfway there (to crazy), as you would expect of someone who regularly refers to herself in a most excellent third person narrative.

You sure do love the spotlight and probably have a very out-going and loud personality. Or not. That's just a stereotype, of course. Participation in the theatre is something to be very proud of. We need more entertainment these days that isn't television and video games (not that these things are bad, necessarily.)
