Jay & Jawnee birthed That Noise in the Byzantine Latino Quarter deep in the heart of Los Angeles in 2007. Originally Jay started composing original songs under the name Appogee. This collection of songs soon came to be known as Unconscious Ruckus. Kanpai Records soon picked up the album and released it Spring 2005. It was at this point Jay hooked up with Jawnee Burx. The duo played consistently throughout Southern California, CMJ, and SXSW as well as tour the US. Soon early demos of the new album caught the ear of producer Sylvia Massey (Tool, System Of A Down, Johnny Cash). Soon the band was wrapping up tracking at Sylvia’s Weed California Studio and filming the video for the first single ‘Willow Tree.’ The album encompasses many topics such as the state of media and pop culture and its constant bombardment of telling us that the way we are is not enough, consume more and feel better. Everyone on this earth has a feeling of urgency as to the 'State of Affairs' of our planet and our future and there are 'No Words' to describe this collective consciousness that transcends all race and creed. This album 'The Way We Are' addresses these primal emotions through song. That Noise is born and we are... 'The Way We Are'.

I will be in Los Angeles somewhere between the 6th and 21st of September. I hope you guys will end up having a show then as well. And we should shoot most definitely.
Starting this August towards the end I will be hosting every other Sunday "The Late Afternoon Acoustic Garden 2009" at my home in Altadena at the Foothills and there will be bands playing strictly acoustic only the keyboards will be electric and of course the PA, so let your bands know whats up and if they want to play. It will be from 6 PM - 10 PM, all ages, music, bands, FOOD (but let your peeps know they must bring some kind of light food/treats/drinks to get in) we will provide the main meals and refreshments. And once a month we will host "The Electric Jungle Party" in Monterey Park which will start at 3 PM to 9 PM there will be food, drinks and like the acoustic garden people must bring something to eat or drink and this will be an adult event, so let me know if you know anyone who would like to play for either the acoustic garden or the electric jungle. Take care. For futher info. just check our blog.
Peace Justin
PS. if you have any or know of any bands or solo artists that would like to perform send them my way, thanks and hope to see you there often.
