"Black cats, melting faces crawling in my telephone," are some of the vivid and colorful lyrics penned by Solomon from the leading single, "Hallucination" off the San Diegan's debut EP, "Shades of Black." Off the success of two street mixtapes, Solomon for the first time introduced himself not just as an emcee, but as a songwriter, producer, engineer and most importantly an artist.
"People think that there is only one shade to the color black. But actually there are several shades. My listeners and audience- and critics have tried to box me into something and label me into what is only a small portion of me. This is my time to show everyone all my layers. All my shades."
Influenced by an era in history that is long gone, Solomon takes you on a journey through the end of the disco era into the late 80's early 1990's. Recruiting producers from Miami, Australia and France, as well as co-producing all the tracks himself, each track is a mixture worldwide sounds melodic tempos and an electronic baseline.
Solomon described the project, "I'm very excited! So far all the songs are really catchy and then the lyrics sneak up on you because it hits on emotions you didn't expect.
