What does THD stand for? We'll never tell. Or maybe we will, some day. You all can guess if you like.

THD has an odd but interesting history which dates back to early 1999, and essentially consists of two bands that merged to become Queen of the Ryche (The Ultimate Queensryche Tribute) in July 2004.

Damon (Keyboards), and Russ (Drums), have been playing together since 1999, when Russ originally formed AWAKE. After a few dozen line-up changes, (LOL), AWAKE became VISIONS, which morphed into the second incarnation of EROTOMANIA, the Dream Theater Tribute, as a secondary identity of VISIONS, featuring the remaining original members John Pine (Vocals), and Marcus Geigrich (Guitars).

During the Erotomania period (2004), Russ was asked to form Queen of the Ryche with Nat (previously of Denom & Leather and Beyond the Black), Kelli (who was fronting her original project DedLilith at the time), and Mike Lepond of SYMPHONY X.

QotR invited Damon to join after their 2nd show, needing stronger backing vocals and better musicianship to solidify the unit.

Marc (Bass), who was also part of the original line-up of Erotomania, joined QotR and VISIONS in January of 2006.

While the other projects that saw these five musicians join together disbanded, QotR was building steam, opening at B.B.Kings for Sonata Arctica and playing the Queensryche after show party. They traveled to Florida, Boston and Connecticut several times, as well as playing the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville NJ, with one night ending in a very memorable green-room experience for Damon and about 20 spectators.

Sadly, QotR was disbanded by the singer in August of 2007.

In September 2007, Marc and Russ joined Nat in an original project, Kelli did some backing vocal sessions, and Damon began writing music for an upcoming album.

On February 8th, 2008 at a Queensryche concert at Starland, (seriously, for real!! we have pictures of it!! go to the PHOTOS page here on the site to see for yourself!! LOL), forces aligned and THD was born out of the ashes of QotR. Minus the male singer, the five members revived much of the Queensryche set, but plan on mixing in other cover tunes including originals.

At a THD practice on December 4, 2008 Russ asked Mr. John Pine to stop by and sing a few ditties...you know, Pull Me Under, and a couple Queensryche songs, yadda yadda yadda, and by the end of the night John was asked to join the band... obviously he said yes...lol

At press time, the band is working on songs by Queensryche (of course...lol), Rush, Genesis, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Dream Theater (actually ALOT of DT) and more, as well as writing original material.
