The Name...........Press release July 2010 : A few weeks ago in Brighton, England, keyboard-player Steve Bull from 80s/90s band “The Name” was clearing out his attic. Amongst the Xmas decorations and general junk he discovered a dusty box of tapes. Cassettes, reel to reels, “Dats” and even Betamax! On playing they sounded great...undiscovered songs, demos and live performances . This inspired Steve to try and find the other guys from the Band via MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and so on. Mark Strobel, lead-singer is living near Hamburg and he put up a MySpace page for The Name...in only 2 weeks they had over 3 thousand friends (still growing quickly) and many people started asking to buy tracks, offer Festival gigs and radio play etc. Steve Crittall, guitarist, (living in Soho, London) had already been in touch with Mark having played at ex-manager Johannes Wessels’ (boss of Live Nation agency) birthday Party so the band was back together...they are already in negotiations with publishers and will be releasing an album of these “Lost Tapes” and touring soon. A band reunited through the internet...all very exciting so look out for “The Name”.......
