We three stumbled upon each other rather unexpectedly...after reading the Evenings newspaper, circling a hot guys dead orbituary i made my way down to the local graveyard. Upon arriving at the correct tombstone i bumped into a rather unusual looking girl "What are you doing here?" "Im here for the hot dead guy!" "No way! so am i" We found the bass player in a dumping bin outside of Mexico City she was a roadie For the Ramones some time ago, they left her for the dead she still pines after Joey Ramone .... no ones told her he is dead hence:
The Necrophiliacs.
'After opening with a version of “Clash City Rockers” (Clash) and name checking Siouxsie Sioux in their lyrics, it’s not that hard to work out where the influences of the NECROPHILIAC’s lie. It is indeed entrenched within the 70’s punk era, celebrating the do-it-yourself ethic. The surprising thing is, is that they barely look old, or strong enough to play their instruments. The girls also take their Slits influences to covering themselves in …. err all things black. As their parents weren’t interested in the above groups, how this locally bred –nearby Hulme- trio stumbled into this world of noise is a bit of a mystery. They continue the historical thread by firing out short, short numbers at breakneck speed. Vocals are hollered out until the abrupt ending lunges forth. It’s only their eighth gig, but they’ve managed to get their own “groupies”, a bunch of male Salfordians that stumbled across them at a previous gig. Whether that’s a good thing or not, we’ll have to see'.
"Sheer girl brilliance, visual arousal & songs not for the faint hearted".
M.E.N Live Review.
'Opening act, The Necrophiliacs, are a badass girl trio churning out various guises of metal with punk angst.
Behind the profanities and the intentionally abrasive content, besides the mundane riffs and the identifiable pop sensibilities associated with Grrrl Riot lies brutal creative energy epitomised in a single underwhelming bastardised guitar riff.
For these notes, these youngsters are no longer punks in a no hope band but a pure by product of the girl-guitar boom, salvation from cock-sure man-riffs..'
