DNP Press Release: Etiku World’s follow up to the well-received Rhythms, Vol. 1 strengthens the label’s foothold in the techno world with four new tracks from three up-and-coming producers. With painstakingly intricate art from Dennis Donohue and design by Denis The7notes, Star Life/Aldalon’s jacket has an impressive look and feel.
The7notes wastes no time getting seriously deep on Life for Life, a multi-layered, melodic affair with a straightforward, driving rhythm section, lauded by Anthony “Shake” Shakir as his favorite track on the release. Etiku Dancer keeps the A-side’s vibe alive on Distant Star, a beautifully laid out, mesmerizing cut that waxes and wanes through a fulfilling six minutes.
Dataphon takes the B-side in a new direction, with two of his signature Arpanet-inspired pieces. He immediately sets a dark, brooding tone for Aldalon, with a synth backbone reminiscent of an ancient chant, and the track consistently builds on top of itself as secondary lines come and go. Abnyn starts you off wondering if it’s going to be suitable for a dance floor, but quickly proves itself worthy as the 303 enters the picture. Hard-edged stabs and dreamy pads compete for your attention in this end-to-end burner.

RST007 - "SYKON" E.P The seventh release of RESTORATION RECORDS is the celebration of the love between men and machines. SYKON is true joy and happiness, it..s the speech of the synthesizers, it..s the passion for hardware samplers and sequencers, it..s the addiction to the juicy sound of tape compression. As usual, no computer has been involved in the production of this record.
"YES, THE 4TH DIMENSION", by EDUARDO DE LA CALLE is a masterpiece of hermetic theories applied to advanced minimal techno. It..s mental and involving, deep and solid. Hi-tech reduced synthesized sound build up a never ending progression upon the strictness of its low tom layer. Mystical energy tthat will kidnap everybody on the dancefloor.
In MARIEU..s "ROOTS", you can hear all the trademarks of the boss of the label. Dark, hypnotic and pumping, it developes a bouncing double bass line that breaks the atmosphere with an aggressive 808 kick. Acid and funky at the same time, it..s simply a time bomb.
On side B, LUCRETIO..s "Where You" is a superb synthesis of his Detroit Techno and UK-Garage influences. Relentless effective old-school drums run with a female vocal sample. Soulful chords sing along balistic claps. An evocative string line introduces a touch of blues. A sweet sunset on the groove, a smooth weapon.
Last but not least, a touch of class by THE ANALOGUE COPS: "SLOWLY". It..s a down beat fusion of jazz and deep house. A monumental bass drum bursts a celestial big band interlude. A sexy 303 acid line, an elegant high-hat, a snappy snare. Just few things but on the right place. A delight for your mind and for your body.
