About me: The 9th Circle is a 35mm short horror film that I wrote, directed and created the make-up efx for. The entire project took me a couple of years to complete between casting and mainly creating all the make-up on my own. Having been a horror fanatic since I was 3, I decided to make a horror film of my own that true fans of the genre would appreciate....hopefully! Give it a look and feel free to comment. I want to know what you think! Enjoy!

hey damien!!! okay. so richy has been telling me to watch the review and i finally got around to it, and i feel like.. from one film maker/horror fan/sfx makeup artist to another, i should write a little review.
the artistry, intensity, and pure brutality of it was amazing. being a woman, and a horror fan, its not like i enjoyed watching a woman have a baby ripped out of her, or another one being raped. it was just the sense that you had the balls, unlike all of the other film makers to take it to that level.but my take on the whole "rape" scene... its not like the devil was a man raping a woman. which you see in most horror films. it was more sadistic and torturous than rape. i think of it as more raping her of her humanity and essence as a human. and the fact that she was innocent. the clown and demons had no reason to do the things that they did to her. and thats what makes it offensive, and freaks you out. its all psychological. and you def. pushed the limit. im amazed by your sick and twisted imagination and how you made it real. the masks and sfx are so detailed. and the camera work and music add to the creep factor. and lest we not forget, the clown! the face of so many peoples fears. i bow down. i cant wait to see more! and be as brutal as ever to piss off and disgust as many people as you can! hell yea! ~<3jen ps. if you need a makeup assistant or any help with the sfx give me a holla. i would love to learn from the master.
The WILDsound folks haven't gotten around to uploading mine yet. I check often, and I'll let you know when it's up. Have you heard of the Toronto After Dark festival? Check er out
It is safe to say that EVERYONE in that audiance was moved in some way. They ALL think you are a madman as well.. It made for a really good debate. Im proud of u bro..
Hey Damien, congrats on the 9th Circle being screened THE WILDSOUND FILM FESTIVAL. I saw the reaction vid and found it interesting. Some of the criticism I agreed with, but I still enjoyed the short film.Besides any reaction is better than none.
Hey there, my name is Erich, I had my short "CUT DOWN" shown at the WILDsound, and I was also attending the festival.
I personally loved the first half of your movie. The subway station, the lonely ambience... then the clown shows up, and that was some of the creepiest imagery I've seen in a while. Loved it. Then the underground part... I was liking it up until the demons in cloaks arrived, and I think it went downhill and got really grotesque. Ridiculously grotesque, and you took it too far with the pregnant woman/baby. And there was no resolve at the end... I was expecting her to get loose, or to wake up... anything. But it really left me hanging. Excellent makeup and costumes however.
This is probably the most amazing short film I've ever seen! I really hope you make it dude, the world would be better off with more people like us. Stay sick and let the blood flow!
Hey Damien how's it going? Wow 3 years - thats how long my first book took to write! Scary huh! But you did a great job - good luck with future projects!! Stay in touch!
