The Wedding Band got its name from our humble beginnings when a good friend wanted a live band at their wedding reception. At the end of the evening people came up and asked us, "What is the name of your band?". We didn't have a name and so we jokingly responded "we're The Wedding Band". Soon, through word of mouth, we began to play more and more weddings and private parties and the name stuck. Three years later we are still busy entertaining and playing good music for people that want to listen all over the Southeast.
The Wedding Band is comprised of six professional musicians. We are not another party band where the members of the group work 9 to 5 and on the weekend dabble in music. This is how we earn our living and we make it a priority to play the music excellently and appear and perform above and beyond the norm.
Our song list is extensive and ever changing. We customize our song list to each event. We'll learn any number of songs just for your special occasion, something that not all bands do. We want you to hear the songs you know and love not miscellaneous tunes you've never heard.
We play all genres of music (R&B, Soul, Oldies, Rock, Country...). However, we specialize in Mowtown, Oldies and Classic Rock.
