CRB was formed in the fall of 2006 by a group of fun-loving parents
who wanted to share their love of rock & roll music with their
children. At the time, CRB stood for "Cobbles Rock Band", because the
children of several band members attended Cobbles Elementary School in
Penfield. The band's early direction was to play classic rock & roll
songs that appeal to elementary school children and their parents.
As their musical style emerged, the band focused on songs with the
interesting instrumentation and full harmonies of 1970s bands like the
Eagles, the Doobie Brothers, and Badfinger. While the band's music
continues to be rooted in that era, its diverse playlist draws from
1930s blues standards all the way up to recent hits. As the band's
musical direction has evolved, so too has the meaning of its
three-letter name. Now, CRB stands for "Classic Rock and Blues."
With more than a century of musical experience among the band's
seasoned musicians, the road ahead is sure to be full of exciting
musical turns. Stay tuned!
