About me:
The Magic Carpet Ride is a
weekly Radio Show that began its life at the beginning of November
2007 on a Dublin based radio station with a temporary license called 949 The Rock.
The programme specialises in playing music from the 1960's Underground,
with your average show consisting of a mixture of the fairly well known
and the relatively obscure. The idea behind the show is to give the
listener a different perspective on the music from this very important
decade. All of the music we play on the show can stand up on its own
merits without the help of any kind of nostalgia value, most of it
sounds as fresh as the day it was recorded, and some of it still sounds
way ahead of its time.
Unfortunately, as 949 The Rock was on a temporary license that expired
at the beginning of December, TMCR is temporarily homeless, a situation
which I am working very hard to rectify, so watch this space...

UPDATE
TMCR has found a new home. From February 16th 2008, the show will be transmitted twice weekly on RTE Gold.
