BAll.....Manifest plainness, Embrace simplicity, Reduce selfishness, Have few desires...Lao-tzu...The art of war is of vital importance to the State. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected ...sun tzu.."the arrt of war"....studied at Harvard Law school..a book written a long time ago...about warfare...used in business school...SEE IT...All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him...sun tzu.....In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact; to shatter and destroy it is not so good. So, too, it is better to recapture an army entire than to destroy it...sun tzu... If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle. ..sun tzu...The victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory....sun tzu....Hence that general is skillful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend; and he is skillful in defense whose opponent does not know what to attack. ....(the whole rest of this line is all sun tzu)...In making tactical dispositions, the highest pitch you can attain is to conceal them. ...Maneuvering with an army is advantageous; with an undisciplined multitude, most dangerous.....Unhappy is the fate of one who tries to win his battles and succeed in his attacks without cultivating the spirit of enterprise; for the result is waste of time and general stagnation. Hence the saying: The enlightened ruler lays his plans well ahead; the good general cultivates his resources.... Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results...A. Einstein...Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it...Buddha....Acceptance is not a state of passivity or inaction. I am not saying you can't change the world, right wrongs, or replace evil with good. Acceptance is, in fact, the first step to successful action. If you don't fully accept a situation precisely the way it is, you will have difficulty changing it. Moreover, if you don't fully accept the situation, you will never really know if the situation should be changed....P.McWilliams...Great spirits have always encountered opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly...A. Einstein...Therefore, be ye lamps unto yourselves, be a refuge to yourselves. Hold fast to Truth as a lamp; hold fast to the truth as a refuge. Look not for a refuge in anyone beside yourselves. And those, who shall be a lamp unto themselves, shall betake themselves to no external refuge, but holding fast to the Truth as their lamp, and holding fast to the Truth as their refuge, they shall reach the topmost height...Buddha....Do not let us mistake necessary evils for good..C.S. Lewis...The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking and we thus drift toward unparalleled catastrophe...A. Einstein...A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death..A. Einstein...Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it...C.S. Lewis... Photobucket
MusicI just realized that this would take me a long long time. I like a lot of music. I think that music is obviously an influence or reflection of how you feel. That being said I do these day's prefer hip hop to metal. Hesher rock to r&b. World music, reggae, rap, crap, even some bluegrass and true country music. Not that whinny crap that most of it is today, oh wait ..I didn't just say that did i. I like female country. and whatever group someone like paul simon or prince end up in.
MoviesMovies ended up replacing books in my life. Sad I know, but I love seeing other peoples artistic(visual) representations of life or fictional experiences. Again, hard to have a favorite. 2 that have stood the test of time, and I never think are really cheesy ever, are the princess bride and the labyrinth. I really like good kung fu flicks including kung fu hustle and kill bill. Some of the best movies for action and action fantasy/kung fu out there though are japanese, chinese and korean. Everything about their movies outclasses all the same whithered and almost dead plot lines of western movies. And I'm one of those people that doesn't always need to have a happy ending. I'm a realist. I know life isn't like the fairy tales. That being said one of my favorite if not my favorite anime, is a movie called grave of the fireflies. This movie is all story and plot driven and is guaranteed to make you cry, even if you are a guy.

About me:
MySpace Layouts "A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe,' a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation, and a foundation for inner security." ~ Albert Einstein, 1950 Photobucket To speak truly, few adult persons can see nature. Most persons do not see the sun. At least they have a very superficial seeing. The sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and heart of the child. The lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; who has retained the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson Photobucket Sometimes we fail to see both sides, or the whole picture. Photobucket Or if we do see it, it doesn't always process correctly. Photobucket are the lines horizontal ,vertical or slanted? Photobucket You see the old man, but what about the 2 people kissing? Photobucket Life is full of illusions, some created for you. Other's created by yourself. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Sometimes being in the moment is a lot harder than it sounds. But it's situations like these, and how we act when we are in them, that allow us to learn who we really are, and exactly how much we need to grow as a person. "We are by far the most violent nation on earth. We have the highest numbers of rape and murder in the world and incarcerate the greatest percentage of our citizens. We are the largest producer and exporter of weapons of mass destruction and have the world's biggest military budget comprising 36 percent of the total world military spending and gobbling up more than 50 percent of our own national budget" Yellow Times
Or why we incarcerate so many of our own people.
The USA has the most number of people in prison in the world, at 2.8 million. Next is China with 1.4 million. However China's total population is 4.6 times that of the USA, so the number of people in prison per 100,000 of population is very different: 1000 people per 100,000 in the USA, 115 per 100,000 in China. The rogue professor entered the basement at thirteen hundred hours. The walls were coated with a mat black rubber. They absorbed the deep blue lighting shining from multiple lamps placed around the room. There appeared to be a large group1 of individuals standing in a grid formation. They were static. Casting steady shadows upon the floor on which they stood. The professor mingled through them. Observing each one with  scrutiny. Then, rubbing the stubbles on his head he clearly voiced for the lights to rise to medium exposure. A slight hum filled to room as the human features of all present became more obvious in the rising clarity.
