About me: Loren England - AKA "The Jam Man" was born in Lubbock, Texas but raised in Winters, Texas. He has been involved in the Hip-Hop scence from almost the very beginning (1981). He started to try to DJ in his dorm room at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, on a Montgomery-Ward component unit with turntable, cassette, 8-track , and radio all built into one. The Jam Man has come a long way since then.
He started out in radio at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas on the college radio station 88.1 KTXT on the Infamous "Sunday Jam" Radio Program. As part of the "Sunday Jam" Team, he was instrumental in giving West Texas a voice in Hip-Hop when there was none, and helped bring Hip-Hop into the Main-Stream.
You might know him as Jim Winters or Jammin' Jim from his early days. He got a commercial radio gig right after college, realized there was not much money to be made in the Lubbock market, and decided enough was enough. But, he still had the Hip-Hop and DJ bug bad. He met a DJ named Kevy Kev who inspired him to work at his craft to become a Hip-Hop Club DJ, and...the rest is history.
He is very influential in Hip-Hop in the West Texas Area, taking pride in being the first to break new music. The Jam Man has been a mainstay in the Lubbock area for over 20 years. Needless to say, he's been in the Hip-Hop DJ game for 23 years strong.
