The Retro's Interests
General
The AlburyCity Retro Youth Café opened in July 2004. The Youth Café project was developed from a direct request by young people that they wanted a safe and central place that they could come and hang out.
The Youth Café aims to:
- Provide an accessible and safe place for young people to meet and "hang out".
- Provide structures which allow young people to involve themselves with the service in a way that suits them.
- Address contemporary issues affecting young people by providing a range of youth programs.
- Generate new opportunities for young local people to increase their resilience and self-confidence.
- Provide local young people with creative outlets to express their views and experiences in their own way.
- Generate links with local youth services and education providers to generate training opportunities and provide information.
- Provide programs which increase young people’s sense of responsibility and ability to contribute to the community.
