About me:
Die-hard Patriot who may not agree with a word you say but will defend to the death your right to say it. Lover of good, quality rock and roll and the equally fine tequila which goes with it [CABO, baby!]. Zymurgist, genealogist, agnostic, member of the Husker Nation, LOVE the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and a New England Patriots fan. Card-carrying member of both the VFW and American Legion. Learned everything I need to know in life from my grandparents or in kindergarten. I don't care what color your skin is; if you were born here you're a Red, White and Blue American and enough with the continentally based hyphenations already.
I ride one of two Yamahas depending on the distance. My 2008 V-Star 1300 Tourer [simply but functionally decked out] is the long haul choice while my 1994 1100 Virago is the short run selection. I know why a dog sticks his head out the car window!
I truly respect notable individuals and celebrities such as the Van Zant brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sammy Hagar, 38 Special and Charlie Daniels, to name a few, who take time to state they honestly and sincerely appreciate, honor and thank the members of the US Armed Forces. From one who has served and still does, that's all the thanks a soldier wants or needs. Those who recognize what soldiers do and understand we follow orders regardless of political views yet still take the time to say thank you is all the reward a soldier could ask for. My three words to those special few; No - thank you! And you're welcome, by the way......
|
Who I'd like to meet:
In no particular order or precedence:
ALL of the Aerosmith band members, the rest of .38 Special, Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas, Samuel L. Jackson, retired Generals Norman Swartzkopf and Colin Powell, Colonel Bruce Crandall [Medal of Honor recipient and part of the reason for the movie "We Were Soldiers"], Daisy Fuentes, Shania Twain, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and all my favorite Army buds who, due to time and distance, aren't a part of my life as much as I wish they were.
