About me: This be a joint acount between Marissa and Michelle. Yeah, that's right. We're cool kids like that.
“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
Marissa is a bit of a cynic when it comes to love, relationships, high school, people’s intelligence, and life in general. But don’t let her usual pessimism deceive you, she is quite devoted when it comes to humanitarian efforts, and peace. I believe she secretly aspires to be like her idol Martin Luther King Jr. She’s part of the Independent party: a little bit liberal, a little bit conservative. I blame the Republican side of her, which is mainly represented by her love for Rudy Giuliani, on her Texas upbringing. She grew up in Houston, but is now living in Pennsylvania… with me. Not with me, but near me.
Marissa is a dancer, and has been since she was four. She hates modern dancing, and therefore focuses on jazz, hip-hop and when the occasion calls for it ballet. She’s addicted to music, and could pull out a song for any situation. Marissa couldn’t get through life, or a day, without her incredible stacks of CDs. She has to have at least one hundred of them. Rap, eighties pop, indie, classical, and old school rock are her favorites. If you hear her singing songs on the radio it’s because she’s accepted that music sucks, and figures she’ll just sing it until the Messiah of music arrives.
She’s is not a fan of women who are needy, clingy, and value their relationships more than their lives. “Just because your boyfriend breaks up with you doesn’t mean you should cut yourself.” Oh, I should also mentions she despises anyone with eating disorders. So, before you go complaining about your non-existent cellulite to her maybe you should eat a donut.
“Part of me suspects that I'm a loser, and the other part of me thinks I'm God Almighty.”
Michelle's narcissism represents half of this quote. However, like the other half she isn’t completely obsessed with herself. Ridding of poverty and war are her main goals. She is very in tune with politics to make sure that these goals are achieved. Her love for the democratic party stemmed from FDR being her favorite president.
Although her appearance deceives many, she is pretty ghetto fabulous. I think this is because she grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She now lives in a different area of Pennsylvania more Amish paradise than gangster. Her love for history and trivia could make her the future female version of Ken Jennings. With the money she would gain, she’d donate it to an important cause and pay her way through college. With any left over cash she’d sleep on it because apparently it has been done. This may or may not be true. Another example of an unprecedented statement is Michelle’s plan to steal batteries when in old age.
Even though she disagrees with society’s perception of women and sex appeal, she still enjoys marathons of America’s Next Top Model. Yet she also has no interest in current trends such as emo and scene. She pays homage to one of her favorite bands, Nirvana, in saying, “ I think Grunge needs to make a come back. At least they were devoted and didn't kill themselves”. Michelle is almost as passionate with music as she is with movies. While her music familiarity is exceptional, her movie knowledge is superb.
Who I'd like to meet: Christopher Walken, Jon Stewart.
i get alot of spam mail and i got a rather inappropriate e-mail saying that some young lady wants to ... uhh... "meet" me, and her screen name on some adult match making service was the same as your aim SN. i thought that was funny. how are you these days?
We will be posting new songs and a new look for our page this weekend - check it out
and be astounded!
Also, when you get a chance, send an e-mail to requests@xpn.org (WXPN) and request Bear In The Attic.
We want to get it played on the station a bunch of times and need your help to make it happen.
And, since we are sending out this stupid generic comment anyway, we might as well include
our upcoming shows - Oct. 5th (Brooklyn) at Spike Hill, Oct. 11th (Philly) at The Fire and Nov. 1st (York, PA) at Club 19.
Thanks for reading this whole thing and, if you comment us back we promise to respond - and
from a real live person even!
Yeah I'm living on campus. I actually move in on the 17. Sorry it took so long, I'm in Mexico right now. So I have limited access to computers. And Happy Belated birthday!! You're legal! I was gonna send you a message, but as I said: No computers. And then I thought about calling you, and realized my phone is useless down here. Haha. But I was thinking about you as I was flipping through channels trying to find the Olympics. Haha. How's life been treating you?
9 day orientation?!? geez. I thought a 2 day was bad. yes auditions aren't fun. considering I get one chance to impress people that will be casting me for the 6 or 7 plays that semester. i miss you fool, funny how we were like "we'll hang out every summer" and now we're starting college.
yeah, I feel ya on the whole "not ready for college" thing. I'm going to orientation but I don't move in until the 17. I'm just picking classes this week, and I have auditions on the 25. eek. I'm really upset becaue I missed the All-American Rejects today. a FREE concert and I had to work :( oh well. do you know when you start?
Hullo! Have any interest in coming to see us play at the dragonfly in Harrisburg one June 1st? It’s ALL AGES and we’ve got presale tics, just message us for info! We really hope you can make it! We promise it will be a good way to bring June in! message us for tics! Hope you can get outside on this sweet day!
Now that you mention being missing the first couple of days I think I remember that. I mostly remember sitting at a table of all girls that year, good times. And of course the horribleness of a school without ceilings and Mr. Zook. Kids need horrible teachers to unite against, this I have found. Without a scapegoat there is too much internal strife and pent up sexual frustration.
