  • Sounds Like

.. The Arthur C. Clarke EP .. (Screaming Apple, 1989) .. .. ...... .. .. Recorded in November 1989 at Red Studios, Kent with the (then) whiskey guzzling Billy Childish on lever-pulling duties. Childish showed no mercy for our sorry, hungover, cacasses and wrenched out of us the definitive Wimple Winch cover for which this ep became rightly famous. That and the knees up version of Arthur C Clarke of course..."where're the harmonies??" .. .. You're My Loving Way ..(Screaming Apple, 1991) .. .. ...... ...... .. .. Screaming Apple's follow up 45 saw us head to more local recording facilities. The result was a pleasing combination of garage-pop with Mark's crunching fuzztone tipping the whole thing into dancefloor territory. Back-up vocals were provided by our good chum, Bronco Bullfrog drummer and Toffee Sunday Smash presenter Andy Morten. .. .. Bargain LP (Delerium 1995) .. .. ...... .. .. We signed to UFO Records and recorded our only lp in 1993. UFO went bankrupt and left us in the lurch with unpaid studio bills etc. It took 2 years to find a label to release it, Delerium stepped into the breech and released it in 1995. .. .. Buttermilk Boy/Bad Clothes (Detour Records, 1999) ...... .. .. Our last single. We had a lot of fun recording this at Toerag with our old mate Liam Watson. Buttermilk Boy is us doing a Humble Pie turn and Bad Clothes is a mini mini operetta inspired by our Ealing/Acton heroes The Who - gawd bless 'em.
