Thank you, thank you, thank you Sally and Bob for inviting us to the Xmas Jam. What a wonderful burst of magic and energy that night began, for sure. The holidays became full of music and new friends . . . . And now what we learned, A word of wisdom: KEEP IT FUNKY IN '80!!!!!!!!! A late Happy New Years greeting to you. Finally drug in late last night from an incredible New Year's Eve gig. I was asked to play at the Silver Creek in Fredericksburg by singer/songwriter Graham Warwick. There were a lot of pickers there including the legendary Spot Barnett who has played with James Brown, Ike and Tina Turner and put together bands for Doug Sahm. We played about six hours. I'm still worn out. Spot wailed on his sax and sang "Keepin' It Funky" for 20 minutes. I was afraid I would die but kept thinkin' that Spot was older than me. I can't let him down. Did break 3 sticks, though. Smile. Betty said she'd never seen me play like that before and we've been together 14 years. Whew. So we've been telling everyone to Keep It Funky in '08. We even told the vet that when we picked up the dogs today. He said, "No problem, but your bill is still $180.00." Hope to see you all again soon. I'd love to sit in with you sometime on drums and/or percussion. All my best, Billy Bucher and Betty, too!!!
