the Acolytes formed in 2005 when singer/guitarist Seamus Garland was looking for a new creative output when his previous act parted ways. At the same time the nucleus of a fledgeling band, comprising Steve Wright on guitar, Stephen Skinner on drums, and Maurice Kelly on bass, were playing together for the first time, while searching for a voice to complement their style.
They soon hooked up and started the process of amalgamating their influences to define a sound of their own. With a set of songs ranging from up-tempo and bright, to down-beat and soulful, the Acolytes are emerging from their larval world of writing songs and recording demos, in an attempt to crack the Northern Ireland music scene.
