The Acoustic Ballroom happens on the first Friday of every month in Wallingford, South Oxfordshire. It's been going since November 2005 and (though I say it myself) has been a rip roaring success.
It is an acoustic open mic night where anyone is welcome to come and play. It is not based around any musical genre and any style of performance is welcome. The only rule is that all performances and instruments must be acoustic and unplugged.
No act is booked before the night and there are no auditions. Performers turn up on the night and get a short slot to play - usually 2 songs. If you've never been before you are pretty much guaranteed to play as (at least) 2 slots are reserved for new performers.
It costs £3 to get in, but all performers get in for free.
We have recently moved house to a swanky new venue (there's a bar and everything). Check our pages on the World Wide Web for details and a map.
Doors/sign up for a slot at 8pm. Music starts at 8.30 and we finish at around 11pm.
