Nothing you've ever heard of...! A mix of Dispatch, Rise Against, Jack Johnson, Yellowcard, Great Big Sea, Lagwagon acoustic, Ben Harper ... (and pretty much all the bands mentionned above). All melted into a beautiful and tasty stew of folky Acoustic Punk Rock
Built on the remnants of an old punk-rock band named Fresh N' Tasty, The Acousticolics were created several years ago in an appartment on Joffre Avenue in Quebec City. Initially, Ju Kella (guitar, vocals), Pol The Wanderer (guitar, vocals) and Max Dez (percussions) formed The Acousticolics. A demo was recorded in 2 sessions during the spring of 2004 and the boyz started to perform a little all over the place. Time passed and the demo was gaining popularity even though the guys were slowly realizing that there was something missing. The band was evolving and things had to change. Better song structure and more band members were the answer...
And so were welcomed Râ Mastaflex (also known as Râ) and Kat (Ju and Pol's sister) in 2005. Pol and Râ now shared the bass and second guitar tasks, while Katty added her beautiful voice to the "ensemble". The following year, Larry was given the special task of adding drums to the very distinct sound of The Acousticolics. The new format was just what the band needed to redefine itself; they are viewed as pioneers in a new folk punk rock (or acoustic punk rock, or acoustic folk punk rock... whatever!!!) style.
3 years have passed since that very first demo was recorded. There have been sellout crowds and private shows. Now is the time for The Acousticolics to shine. The band has been working hard since August 2006 on their new project, a 12 song CD. "Tuning In" is a collection of memories and messages of hope, a collection of stories about life, trials and errors, smiles and tears, questions and answers. See you soon... JK

C'est sur les fondations d'un ancien groupe punk-rock, Fresh N' Tasty, que fut créée The Acousticolics, dans un appartement de l'Avenue Joffre à Québec il y a plusieurs années. Au début, Ju Kella (vocales, guitare) Pol The Wanderer (guitare, vocales) et Max Dez (percussions) formaient le groupe. Un démo fut enregistré en deux séances durant le printemps de 2004, et les gars ont commencé à performer un peu partout. Avec le temps, le démo gagnait de la popularité même si les gars commençaient à réaliser qu'il manquait quelque chose. Le groupe évoluait et quelque chose devait changer; une meilleure structure dans les chansons et de nouveaux membres étaient la solution...
Furent donc accueillis Râ Mastaflex (alias Râ) et Kat (la soeur de Ju et Pol), en 2005. Pol et Râ se partageraient dorénavant les tâches de la bass et de la deuxième guitare tandis que Kat venait embellir le tout avec sa jolie voix. L'année suivante, Laurent fut donné la tâche toute spéciale de rajouter de la batterie sur le son très distinct du groupe. Le nouveau format était exactement ce dont le groupe avait besoin afin de se redéfinir; les membres sont vus comme des pionniers dans un nouveau style punk-rock folklorique, ou punk rock acoustique, peu importe!!!
3 années ont passé depuis l'enregistrement du tout premier démo. Il y a eu des salles pleines et des spectacles privés. Maintenant est venue l'heure de briller pour The Acousticolics. Le groupe travaille fort depuis Août 2006 sur leur nouveau projet, un album de 12 chansons. "Tuning In" est une collection de souvenirs et de messages d'espoir, une collection d'histoires qui parlent de la vie, d'essais et erreurs, de sourires et de pleures, de questions et de réponses.
