We can play a little something for everyone at your club or party. We specialize in versatility and tailoring our set list to perfectly suit your special event.-------------------------- Our members are award winning musicians who also have toured extensively and performed at all the "it" functions!------------------------ ..............................Julieann Banks (bandleader/vocals/bass) moved back "home" to Austin in 2007. She's no newcomer to t he music scene though! After years of experience as a featured entertainer on the local and international elite showband circuit she saw first hand a growing need for a quality alternative to the cost and stage demands of a larger group. She has set out to fill that need by assembling the LEAN MEAN DANCE MACHINE that is the ACTIVATES! Locally, she has performed with Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes, The Big Time, and Apaches of Paris an award winning band that showcased her own music. Internationally she has toured with Percy Sledge ("When A Man Loves A Woman") and Legends of Las Vegas. She was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame with The Harmon Drew Supergroup. She has performed at President George Bush's Inaugural Ball in 2001, and at several events for the President and also Ann Richards when they were the governors of Texas. She has garnered many awards and recognitions including: ASCAP Popular Awards Panel Program 1995 - 2007, Best Female Vocalist - Rock (Austin Music Magazine), placed in the Austin Chronicle Music Awards, and First Place/Ticketmaster "Austin's Best Unsigned Band" showcase. Other clients and events she has performed for include: Valero Energy, USAA, Century 21,The Great Texas Balloon Race, Motorola, Dell, Sematech, The Confederate Air Force, Enron, Dahill Industries, The University of TX, The Red Cross, Bayshore Medical Center, Texas A & M University, Montessori Schools, The Krewe of Gemini Grand Ball, The Krewe of Justinian Grand Ball, The Krewe of Centaur Grand Ball (Shreveport LA). She has toured in New Zealand, Japan, Portugal, and Switzerland as well as played many prestigious local and regional venues including Laguna Gloria, One World Theatre, Antones, Gruene Hall, The Backyard and La Zona Rosa. She has recorded four CDs of her own music, each a lovely blend of heartfelt lyrics and inspired melodies over a variety of musical beds including rock, blues, americana and country. Her sets are tailored to please every audience member by blending genres from jazz to classic rock, current pop to the sing along standards. Julieann has an easy rapport with her audience and really knows how to pull them into the performance and, of course, requests are always welcomed and encouraged! Julieann is and has always been a full time career musician. Songwriting and performing is her passion and she has been blessed with the gift of being able to make a living doing what she loves. Her desire to share this gift drives her to be the absolute best at preparing and pacing an event to perfectly suit you and your guests for an evening of music that everyone will be raving about!--------------------------------------This trios mission: To provide clients with top shelf repertoire and showmanship without the inflated price tag!
