Did you know that Disney/Pixar is making a 3D Ren & Stimpy movie? It's true! It's about a band of outcasts and misfits who meet on an amazing adventure and learn that true friendship is the most important thing. It's starring Dane Cook as the voice of Ren and Brad Pitt as Stimpy. And every character in the film has a confident grin and one raised eyebrow.

Had a pretty kick-ass time in Vegas today. I got to meet Gilbert Hernandez and got my big hardcover anthology of the Palomar stories signed. And then, in the evening, I got to meet Michael Chabon and got my copy of "The Adventures of Cavalier and Clay" signed. These occasional events like the Vegas Valley Book Festival make this hellhole a more tolerable place to be on occasion. Also, a few days ago Angie and I got to go on a once-a-year tour of the Hammargren house. It's the former lieutenant Governor's house, and contains a treasure trove of strange and ecclectic stuff. You've got Liberace's staircase, an Egyptian tomb, complete with the sarcophagus that the old man wants to be buried in. There's a full-sized dinosaur skeleton with an E.T. head, a room devoted entirely to Belize, and wall-to-wall stuff, for lack of a better word. We were thinking about how much you and Jennifer would appreciate it. He opens the place up to the public once a year, to coincide with Nevada Day (which is Halloween). You guys have to try to make it out next year. I'd be really surprised if the place isn't featured in that "Weird Las Vegas" (or is it "Weird Nevada"?) book that you have. Anyhow, talk to you soon.

I know I'm a bit late on this, but I hope you had a great birthday. The pics you and Jennifer have been posting of Dahlia are great. She's such a cutie. Anyhow, I know we're heading that way around Thanksgiving time. Hopefully we can get together in the midst of all of the requisite family craziness. Also, if you've never heard Bon Iver, check him out...really beautiful. And if I already told you that (which is likely) then just igore me.
