Sounds Like
A mixture of Oi! & streetpunk. Raise your fist and sing-a-long!!!
It all started in Antwerp in the year 2000, when The Agitators were founded from the ashes of a few bands like Double U.S. and Eightball. The purpose of the project was to make sing-a-long streetpunk with lyrics about stuff happening in daily life.
The style of The Agitators is best described as hard in-your-face Oi!/Streetpunk with catchy sing-a-long parts.
After the recording of a demo in 2001 they released a split 7 (with another Antwerp punk band called The Heartaches) on Rock and Roll Radio. The success of the lads got noticed within and far beyond Europe. The band was contacted by Street Anthem Record (USA) and in 2003 The Agitators released their debut full length Meeting The Lads. The album got great reviews all over Europe and The States.
In The summer of 2003 The Agitators played at Holidays In The Sun in the UK, and were asked back to play on every edition of HITS and Wasted festival since.
In March 2005 The Agitators were asked on a 3-week tour across the States with their friends Funeral Dress. From West to East-coast they played over 15 shows in world-famous clubs like The Troubadour and CBGBs, getting great reviews and leaving new fans behind everywhere they went.
The main thing that drives the band are the gigs. Since their first show in Belgiums punk-temple the Lintfabriek they've played more than hundred concerts and festivals with bands like: Cock Sparrer, Deadline, The Last Resort, Hard Skin, The Forgotten, Bombshell Rocks, Sixer, The Real Mckenzies, The Kids, Beerzone, D.O.A, The Adicts, The Casualties,...
SOS Records (US) has released the bands second full length "Salute To All" (june 2005). So please get a copie, watch out for a gig nearby and get ready to sing-along with The Agitators!!!
