   About The Agonal Trace

As we career headlong towards the last days of humanity The Agonal Trace can be found stood back composing the soundtrack. Ours are songs of heroic love and tragic heartbreak, life and death set against a desolate backdrop, songs not of surrender but of defiance and grace in a brutal world. There is beauty and most importantly humanity running through our music, through the bleakness, and the desperation. We are the sound of mankind coming to terms with ourselves. Discovering the myriad paradoxes that haunt our existence and clambering to make sense of it all.

Sometimes we make pop music; sometimes we make challenging, unsettling music but no matter what, our aim is always to make great music. We aim to make music that will change lives, which will remain important for years to come and be heard and loved by as many people as possible. We are driven by a passion for what we do; this is not a choice for us but a compulsion and we have an absolute belief in it.

To describe the music of The Agonal Trace is not an easy task, you are best off listening for yourself. Our music is highly varied and dynamic yet has common elements which make it distinctively ours.

Here is a list of some influences, which may or may not help point you in the right direction: The Velvet Underground, Nick Cave, The Verve, Tom Waits, Primal Scream, Spiritualized, Miles Davis, Leonard Cohen, Edgar Allen Poe, J.G. Ballard, The Flaming Lips, David Lynch, My Bloody Valentine, Edward Hopper, David Bowie and many more.

Thanks guys, looking forward to seeing you again. You're probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing Godspeed You! Black Emperor live so I'm very grateful for that! I looked back on the Pav video I took last night but the sound overloaded to buggery so next time I'll try a different method :)

Take care

Wow, last night at the Pavilion! Such a brilliant performance: the only vocabulary I have to describe it is in cliches, like: mind blowing; blown away; totally awesome. One of the best shows I've seen you do. Well done! Thanks for the Straw Dogs CD too. I've played it three times today already. x

Hello fellows!

Thanks for your compliments - diversity and unability to tell where it goes nextness are qualities we value!

The Poisoning is a good song - a very "big" chorus - good melody. Why only one song?

Good taste in music too.. yours and ours are quite similar.

I hope you'll consider downloading our album if you haven't done so already.. it might enrich your day and it doesn't cost a buck.

Glad tidings,

was the film maker from Northants?
I guess they are but could give Paul Mcastocker a message as he is in charge of booking bands.
Think ull find him in AMEF friends or mine on facebook
